‘I've often said that you can take hundreds of photos of the castle and no two would be alike. Took these three within thirty minutes of each other tonight. I rest my case!’

🗣️ HAVE YOUR SAY:SUPPORT YOUR CASTLE 🏰

Morning folks — calm but wet seas on the Tay, but a bit of a storm brewing over the Ferry.

Broughty Castle Museum has now closed for the winter — the first time in living memory it’s been shut for an extended off-season. Officially, it’s a “seasonal closure,” but many locals are asking if this is the start of something more permanent.

Under Dundee City Council and Leisure & Culture Dundee (LACD), the Castle’s future is under review — with phrases like “cease operation” appearing in reports. Not exactly the language that fills you with confidence.

The Castle isn’t just a museum — it’s our link to the sea, our skyline, our story. It draws thousands to the Ferry, supports local cafés and shops, and gives our kids a living sense of Dundee’s past.

💬 So what do you think?
– Should the Castle ever close its doors for winter?
– Should the grounds remain open for walkers, families and visitors even when the museum’s shut?
– Or should the Council guarantee year-round access to a public treasure?

Pop your thoughts below 👇
Because if we go quiet now, those stone walls might stay that way.
