The YVs continued with BA search and rescue, working on door procedures, casualty procedures and radio communication during a search. 👨‍🚒

Meanwhile, our newer YVs got their first introduction to pumps, learning how to start and operate the pump and get a length of hose working from it. 💦🚒

🚨 Last night at Dumbarton YVS 🚨

Our newer YV’s continued working on perfecting their hose drills, including replacing a burst length of hose and advancing a length of hose. 🚒

Meanwhile, the rest of the YV’s continued with their BA training. They had the opportunity to look around a BA set and try it on before heading outside to practise sn**ch rescues, a technique used to rescue casualties from fire compartments.

Well done to everyone for their hard work! 👏🔥

🚨 What a day! 🚨

Just over 14 miles (22.8km) walked in just 6 hours! 💪🔥

The YV’s have done absolutely amazing throughout the day, showing incredible determination and teamwork from start to finish. We’re also delighted to have raised an amazing £1,300, including donations made in cash on the day! ❤️

A massive thank you to everyone who donated and supported us, all the YV’s who took part, and our instructors for helping make the day such a success.

We couldn’t have done it without you! 👏🚒❤️

Our new YVs continued with their hydrant drills and learned how to handle a burst length of hose. Meanwhile, the rest of our YVs headed into the basement of our BA block to practise navigating tight spaces in the dark while using close personal protection to stay safe. 🔥

We would also like to say a big thank you to Faith Bhardwaj, Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Dumbarton, for coming down tonight to speak with and interview some of our YVs. It was great to have you along! 👏
