This page is run by our admin and park volunteers, Brian, Victoria and Daniel. We don't run the cafe, that's leased via Doncaster Council.

The Friends of Sandall Park are a group of like-minded people who love volunteering at the park. Friends of Sandall Park are a group of like minded people dedicated to the improvement of the park for the benefit of its human visitors, birds and resident wildlife. Our group is primarily made up of volunteers who work alongside professionals from various agencies committed to regenerating the park. We are enthusiastic, forward thinking and will continue to develop the park in a way that reflects what our visitors want. Just look around the park and you will see a variety of changes brought about by our group. Walk and jog on the fitness trails, stroll around the nature trails or relax and have a picnic in the picnic area while studying the wildlife information boards. You may just wish to walk around the lake and rest on any of the numerous new benches. Sandall Park is an important and unique resource for the people of Doncaster as a whole, and the local community in particular. Enjoy the facilities and please consider becoming a ‘Friend’.

🎃💔 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – GLOWALK CANCELLED 💔🎃

We’re absolutely gutted to announce that tomorrow’s Glowalk at Sandall Park has been cancelled due to the weather conditions.

We’ve held off making this decision for as long as possible, desperately hoping the weather would change and we could go ahead. Unfortunately, the forecast hasn’t improved enough for us to safely run the event.

We know how much everyone was looking forward to Glowalk, and we’re just as disappointed as you are. So much hard work has gone into planning this event by our volunteers, stallholders and entertainers.

However, the safety of everyone must come first.

We’re truly sorry to everyone who was planning to join us and thank you for your understanding and continued support. ❤️

🚴‍♂️💚 MILES FOR MINDS – DONCASTER TO LONDON!

Tyreese Blinkhorn is taking on an incredible 200-mile challenge over 3 days (27–29 December) to raise money for YoungMinds, supporting young people’s mental health.

A Little Bit Of Info About Our Geese

If you ever notice anything unusual or are worried about one of our geese, please drop us a message. We're always happy to hear from you and appreciate everyone looking out for our park wildlife. 💚

The Canada goose (pictured) has a condition called 'Angel Wing', which makes its wings look a little different.

This lovely goose has been happily living at Sandall Park for at least six years! It's not poorly or suffering, and manages perfectly well looking after itself.

There's no need to rescue it or take it to a vet simply because of its wings. It's quite at home here, and hopefully will continue enjoying life in the park for many years to come.

We're also hoping you can help us find its old friend!

Another goose, which has Angel Wing on just one side, hasn't been spotted recently. The two used to stick together, so we're wondering where its companion has got to.

We think it must still be somewhere around the park, as 'Angel Wing' geese cant fly, so if you happen to spot it, we'd really appreciate a message.

Santa Dash at Sandall Park

For the first time, Your Hearts and Minds has been chosen as a charity partner for Sandall Park’s popular Santa Dash, which returns on Sunday 6 December.

The festive event will raise funds for St John’s Hospice in Balby and the charity’s appeal to build a new hydrotherapy pool for people with learning disabilities in Doncaster.

The day begins at 10am with a Christmas market, refreshments, stalls and Santa’s Grotto, followed by the Santa Dash at 11am. Adults can take part for £10, which includes a Santa suit and medal, while children aged five and over can enter for £3.50 and receive a medal and reindeer antlers. Dogs are also welcome.

Every pound raised will help support specialist hospice care for local families and bring the charity closer to its goal of raising the final £159,000 needed for a new purpose-built hydrotherapy pool.
