Yesterday was one of those days that reminds you exactly why Scouting is so special.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to every single person who played a part in making our AGM and Summer Fair such a fantastic success.
To all of our volunteers who spent weeks planning, organising, collecting, building, setting up and then packing everything away afterwards, thank you. Most people only see the few hours the event is open, but I know just how much work goes on behind the scenes to make days like yesterday happen.
To our leaders, thank you for everything you did to make your section stalls such a success. The time, effort and enthusiasm you all put in really showed, and seeing the young people enjoying themselves made it all worthwhile.
To all of our parents and families, thank you for turning out in such incredible numbers and supporting the Group. Seeing over 200 people at our AGM was something really special, and by the time the Summer Fair was in full swing we reckon there were somewhere between 350 and 400 people enjoying the event. That level of support means more than you probably realise.
To the wider Cantley community, thank you for embracing what weβre trying to build here. Whether you came along for five minutes or stayed for the whole afternoon, your support helps make the 58th such a special place to volunteer and for young people to grow.
And finally, to our young people.
Thank you for turning up smartly dressed for the AGM, representing yourselves, your section and Scouting with pride. Thank you to everyone who gave up part of their afternoon to help run the stalls, sell tickets, encourage visitors and simply get involved. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves.
Yesterday wasnβt just about raising money or holding an AGM. It was about seeing a community come together. Seeing hundreds of people enjoying themselves around our HQ, supporting one another and celebrating everything thatβs great about the 58th.
It was our biggest Summer Fair to date, and that simply wouldnβt have happened without every single one of you.
Thank you for making it such a memorable day.
