Kind words from Diane. Thank you!

It's hard not to smile when we read a Google review like this. Thank you to everyone who's ever left one. It may only take a minute, but it helps us a lot!

What is an OCT scan?

It stands for Optical Coherence Tomography. Imagine an ultrasound, but instead of sound it uses light to build a 3D image of your retina and the back of your eye.

Phil & Aileen (our optometrists) can then spot changes a standard scan would never pick up such as signs of macular degeneration and links to diabetes.

We've used OCT scans for 10 years so if we think you'd benefit from one, we'll explain why and walk you through the results.

Summer is officially over (sorry)! But autumn/winter sun sits just low enough to cause more glare when you're out and about, so sunglasses are a must this time of year.

Get booked in and Dawn or David will help you choose a pair that suit you. Prescription or not.

David and Phil trying out the Ray-Ban Meta glasses 😎

They look like a classic pair of Ray-Bans, but they have a built-in camera, open-ear speakers and Meta AI. So you can take photos and video, listen to music, take calls and ask questions, all without reaching for your phone.

Available from Staveley and Conisbrough.

Call or book online to try them out.

We stock glasses that help you hear as well as see. Nuance Audio combine prescription glasses with built in open-air hearing technology.

Ask us about them when you're next in and we'll show you how they work.

We pride ourselves on giving you a thorough eye test where you'll never feel rushed. Here's what to expect:

1. We chat through your history, symptoms and how you use your eyes
2. Puff-of-air eye pressure test
3. A detailed scan of your eyes that measures how they focus
4. A wide photo of the back of your eye, standard in every test
5. The letter chart and finding your prescription
6. A detailed eye health check
7. Further scans if needed (such as an OCT)
8. Phil or Aileen will then talk through the results with you, before handing you over to David (Conisbrough) or Dawn (Staveley) to find you the right frames and lenses

We'll keep you informed throughout the process and answer any questions you have.
