Make a Big Impact Close to Home
Due to the success of our growing Guide Unit, we are planning to start a new Ranger Unit in Dipton for 14 to 18 year old girls.
We are now looking for volunteers to join our team and help us to deliver Rangers.
If you would like to make a real difference in your local area please get in touch. www.1stdipton.org.uk/volunteer

Congratulations to our oldest Scouts who recently completed their two day Expedition Challenge. This involved planning the route, navigating and carrying all their own gear for the two days. This Challenge was the final one they needed to complete their Chief Scout Gold Awards.

At the end of the summer holidays our Scouts and Guides took part in an amazing week long summer camp to London. We stayed at Gilwell Park Scout Adventures site and took part in many activities including climbing, 3G swing, grass sledging, archery and axe throwing. We also went to Lee Valley White Water centre for Water Wipeout and had two days in London, including visiting HMS Belfast, Natural History museum, Buckingham Palace, London Zoo and we went to Wicked at the Apollo Theatre. Not sure how we managed to cram so much into a very busy fun packed week!

Our scouts recently had an amazing weekend camp near Morpeth. Over the weekend they went surfing at Druridge Bay, cooked meals over open fires, took part in wide games and built bottle rockets to carry eggs and return them safely to the ground. An excellent weekend with a great group of scouts learning Skills for Life.

Just before half term we were thrilled to invest our first ever Squirrel Scouts in to our Scouting family at Dipton. Squirrels are our youngest section for 4 to 6 year olds. We are sure our youngest members will enjoy many years of fun and adventures.
