Our beavers had another amazing themed overnight this weekend. ‘How to train your dragon’ camp! For some, their first night away with ‘scouts’ and what an adventure.

The effort and planning that goes into these nights is just phenomenal, well done to all those involved.

Thank you also to Terrace Cupcakes for supporting our coffee morning which allowed family and friends to get involved too and raised £282. The beaver cake was amazing!

If you would like to get involved with helping to make adventures happen for young people, as well as having one or two yourself, then please get in touch via our website: www.consettscouts.org.uk we’d love to hear from you.

Our squirrels have smashed their first sleepover - a huge milestone when you consider they are only 4 or 5! They really impressed their leaders with their confidence, kindness and independence. Well done to them all!

Apparently they want to do it all again next weekend! 😂

As always, a huge thank you to our leaders whose ideas, energy and support make events like this happen.

Our scouts did their first winter camp (well since I’ve been GLV) last weekend at Great Towers campsite - who were hosting their first ‘Frost and Flame’ national camp.
The scouts got the opportunity to do so many adventurous activities as well as bushcraft, problem solving and a brilliant ‘escape room’ .
It was great to meet and team up with groups from all over the country as well as meeting a group much closer to home, the Chester-le-street Centurions Explorer group.

Happy 1st Birthday to our Squirrel Drey which has gone from strength to strength since opening 1 year ago.

The section now has 20 squirrels who have crammed such a lot into the year from crafts to bouldering, gardening to snowtubing and so much more! They are even doing their first overnight this weekend which will be fantastic!

Thank you to all the adults leading and supporting the section , the parents and the squirrels themselves for making the year such a success! 🥳 🎂

What a fantastic weekend celebrating all that is great about Scouts and our amazing scout group.

Firstly we had the Durham Scout awards where we celebrated lots of our members getting their Chief Scout Awards and the Pete Swinney trophy. Thanks to Durham Scouts for putting on a great event. And well done again to all those who collected awards

Then we had a brilliant sleepover at Ninja warrior in Teeside on Saturday night. A huge first for both us and Ninja Warrior Teeside, with over 60 of our cubs and scouts living their best lives. Can highly recommend it. The children (and adults 😜) absolutely loved it, the venue is fantastic and the staff were all amazing! Thank you Ninja Warrior UK Teesside

Thank you to everyone who makes these things happen!

Fantastic that some of our leaders got the opportunity to collect a Red Kite Award on behalf of everyone at 1st Consett Scouts from our local MP Liz Twist. Thank you.

This is testament to all of the hard work and dedication of our amazing adult volunteers that allow all of our children to make such fabulous memories and learn Liz Twist

So very proud of our whole scout group, over 80 members and 15 leaders out at the remembrance parade in Consett today.
Even our newest and youngest section, squirrels was represented.
Well done to each and every one of you and especially to all of our flag bearers and wreath bearers at both the parade and the service beforehand.
