Last night we had the great pleasure of the company of the amazing Martin Donnelly and his partner Sue. Not only did Martin walk away with the best Table Topic speaker, he also won the Best Speaker award for an unprepared talk about his early life, and the many characters he has met in his motorsport career. (These included: Graham and Damon Hill, Stirling Moss, Brad Pitt, Lewis Hamilton, Eddie Jordan, Eddie Irvine, James Hunt and the list goes on!) It really was life in the fast lane. Martin is about to complete a fascinating book about his life and times in Formula1 and beyond. He has a book tour coming up in Australia early next year so what better place to come and hone his speaking skills? We were honoured to give Martin some feedback not only with suggestions for improvement but also some things he does very well already. We are looking forward to hosting Martin again soon. What an absolutely fantastic evening!
Great people, great energy and such a brilliant atmosphere!

Last night was our Toastmasters meeting, and of course we finished with one of my favourite parts… the AWARDS!

So lovely to see some very worthy and deserving people recognised for stepping up, speaking out and giving it their all.

And that’s exactly what Toastmasters is about.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a confident speaker already or the thought of standing up in front of a room terrifies you. This club really is for ANYONE and EVERYONE.

You learn. You laugh. You grow. You gain confidence. And you do it surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed.

🍁 September is special because...

It reminds me that change can be a beautiful thing. The leaves begin to change colour, the seasons shift, and we're gently reminded that growth often comes through transition.

It's a month that encourages us to embrace new challenges, learn new skills, and appreciate the beauty around us. Why not make excellence in speaking skills your new challenge?
