💚 Volunteers Needed 💚

We’re excited to launch our new Olive Tree Cancer Support Pop-Up Stand in Outpatients at Horsham Hospital and we’re looking for friendly volunteers to join us bi-weekly from 4th June, between 10am–2pm.

This is a great opportunity to support your local community by helping raise awareness of the services and support groups we provide for people affected by cancer.

As a volunteer, you’ll:
💬 Welcome and chat with visitors
📖 Share information about our services
🤝 Help create a warm and approachable space

No specialist experience is needed, just a caring attitude and a passion for helping others.

🎙️ New Episode of The Conversation Starter Podcast 🎙️

In this powerful episode, Shirley and Tara from the Conversation Starter Project CIC are joined by Mark Andrew, our Horsham Centre Manager, to discuss the incredible work the Olive Tree does to support people affected by cancer across the local community.

From counselling and complementary therapies to peer support groups and social activities, Olive Tree Cancer Support provides compassionate emotional, practical, and wellbeing support for patients, families, friends, and carers navigating the challenges of cancer.

What began as a small coffee morning back in 1993 has grown into a trusted and much-loved community organisation with centres in Crawley and Horsham, while remaining rooted in kindness, connection, and support.

Mark shares the inspiring story behind the charity, the impact their services have on local people, and why community support matters now more than ever.

💜 Could a CALM Course help you or someone you know? 💜

Olive Tree Cancer Support is exploring interest in running a CALM Course – Coping And Living Mindfully for people living with or recovering from cancer.

This supportive wellbeing course is designed to help people manage some of the emotional and physical challenges that can come with diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Sessions would cover topics such as:

✨ Managing stress and fatigue
✨ Relaxation and mindfulness
✨ Improving sleep
✨ Returning to exercise
✨ Communication with loved ones and medical professionals
✨ Coping with concerns about the future

The course would provide a safe, friendly and understanding group environment where people can share experiences, learn practical techniques and connect with others who understand what they’re going through.

At this stage, we’re simply looking to gauge interest from anyone who may like to attend or find out more.
