Registered Charity in England. SMILE Through Sport was founded by Stephen Miller to create increased awareness, opportunity and ultimately enjoyment in disability sport throughout the North East of England. SMILE Through Sport will provide a range of services
based around the three key themes of Inspiration, Education and Enjoyment. These services include disability awareness and sport specific courses, provision of sporting activity and an engagement and inclusion consultancy. The organisation is a charity existing simply to benefit the community in which it is based through strong social objectives. Our primary objectives are: -
Inspire individuals, those with a disability specifically, to participate in and enjoy physical activity and sport. Educate providers of sport and physical activity to empower them to create high quality opportunities for disabled people within sports clubs, sessions and events. Provide enjoyable participation opportunities across a range of sports and activities. Become the North East main source of resources, information and advice regarding disability sport. Collaborate with local and national partners to ensure disabled people have a voice within sport and physical activity.
