π A Mother's Relief, A Baby's Second Chance π
When Judith welcomed her baby girl into the world after a safe delivery, she was overwhelmed with joy. She named her daughter, Sultan, after her mother-in-law and looked forward to bringing her home.
But that joy quickly turned into worry when doctors discovered that baby Sultan had neonatal jaundice and urgently needed phototherapy treatment.
Judith had never heard of jaundice before. She was frightened and unsure of what to do, especially since the hospital where she delivered did not have a Newborn Unit to provide the care her baby needed. Being referred to Dreamland was daunting she had never been there and didn't know what to expect.
However, from the moment she arrived, her fears began to fade. The team warmly welcomed her, explained her baby's condition, and reassured her that Sultan would receive the care she needed.
Baby Sultan immediately began phototherapy, and her latest test results show that her bilirubin levels are steadily decreasing. She continues to receive treatment while being exclusively breastfed on demand.
Today, Judith is relieved and grateful. Not only is her daughter improving, but she also has peace of mind knowing that quality care is available for those is need.
"I am thankful to have such a facility here that is equipped to serve and save lives." Judith says.
Stories like Sultan's remind us why accessible neonatal care matters. Every child deserves the chance to thrive, and every parent deserves hope when they need it most. π
