FND Action

FND Action We are a charity supporting those diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) in the UK

In October 2016, FND Action became the first charity to be registered in the UK to support those diagnosed with a Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). We are dedicated to supporting anyone affected by FND; including those diagnosed, families and caregivers. We work to:

✨ Raise awareness of FND among the public and healthcare professionals.
✨ Provide support through peer-led groups and online c

ommunities.
✨ Campaign for better understanding, treatment, and care pathways.
✨ Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to drive progress in FND care. Our mission is to ensure no-one in the UK faces FND alone, and to empower the community with information, support, and a collective voice for change.

FND in the news..

Congratulations to Rebecca Stevens on winning the disabled driving championship at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. 🏆

Rebecca, who lives with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), hopes her story will show others that disabilities do not stop people from achieving their dreams.

FND can present many challenges, but it does not define a person’s ambitions, talents, or potential. We are delighted to see Rebecca’s achievement recognised and wish her every success for the future.

Well done Rebecca, and thank you for helping raise awareness of FND. 💜

📢 Participants Needed: Young People Aged 12–17 with FND and Autism

Researchers at King’s College London are looking for young people aged 12–17 who have both Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and autism, along with a parent or caregiver, to take part in a research study exploring their experiences.

The study aims to better understand how FND and autism interact and how they impact the lives of young people and their families.

Participants will receive vouchers in recognition of their time.

A huge thank you to Sadie, her family and everyone who supported this fantastic charity night and raffle in aid of FND Action. 💜

Inspired by her mum’s journey to an FND diagnosis, Sadie organised an incredible evening of fundraising and community spirit, raising an amazing £1,010 for the charity, which far exceed her original £300 target. ✨

Thank you to everybody who donated, attended and helped make the event such a success. Your support helps us continue raising awareness and supporting people living with Functional Neurological Disorder.

“If I could stop my symptoms, I would.”

Many people living with Functional Neurological Disorder spend a great deal of time trying to manage, reduce, adapt to, and cope with their symptoms.

Sometimes the simplest statements say the most. 💜

This video from on TikTok really resonated with us today. 💜

Functional Neurological Disorder can be exhausting, unpredictable, frustrating, and at times overwhelming. Some days simply getting through the day takes more strength than most people will ever see.

But despite the challenges, there can still be moments of gratitude, hope, laughter, and achievement.

Whatever today looked like for you, be proud of what you achieved.

Every step forward counts. 💜

Back in March for FND Awareness Day UK, we invited people to share their experiences and messages with others living with Functional Neurological Disorder.

This beautiful submission came from Sofia, aged 15.

We know many young people with FND can feel isolated, misunderstood, or alone whilst trying to navigate school, friendships, symptoms, and everyday life alongside their condition. That’s why messages like this matter so much.

Thank you Sofia for allowing us to share your words. 💜
