We had a brilliant evening with our resident Young Farmers Club on Thursday night — full of energy, laughter, and hands-on fun with our animals and outdoor projects! 💚

For students attending Stelling Lodge Education & Therapy, involvement in the Young Farmers Club may be offered as an additional opportunity — considered carefully on an individual basis depending on their interests, confidence, and what will benefit them most.

It’s another way we’re helping young people grow, connect, and thrive — not just in education, but in life. 🌱

🗣 Communication – Whether it’s working together on a project, sharing ideas, or simply having a safe space to talk, communication is at the heart of what we do. Sometimes that means talking things through with a trusted adult—and sometimes it’s just quietly connecting with the pigs, where words aren’t needed but presence matters.

🔧 Technical – From hands-on tasks to gaining new knowledge and practical skills, young people are encouraged to get stuck in and learn by doing—whether that’s fixing, making, or discovering something new such as how to drive a tractor.

💪 Resilience – Sometimes it’s mucking out a stable, doing a tough job, or simply sticking with something when it’s hard. We support young people to develop grit, responsibility, and a sense of pride in their effort.

🌲 Reflection – At the end of the day, there’s space to slow down. Around the fire, out in nature—or spending time alongside the alpacas—there’s time to think, observe, and just be. Because growth isn’t just about doing—it’s also about understanding.

We offer a hands-on, outdoor learning environment, ideal for students who find traditional education challenging including:

Our team consists of fully qualified teachers, an onsite SENDCo, an onsite Clinical Occupational Therapist, and professionals with extensive safeguarding experience. Our leadership team brings expertise in leading an award-winning educational farm and extensive experience of family farming, ensuring that every programme is grounded in practical, real-world learning.
