YMCA Burton's Senior Development Manager, Catherine and Mediator, Peter, were delighted to attend the Burton and South Derbyshire College Further Education and Apprenticeship Awards 2026 evening recently.

Our CEO, Paul Laffey also attended as a Patron of the College and as sponsors of the Community Impact category, we were proud to present the award to Harri - a truly outstanding and impactful winner. Congratulations! ⭐

The event was a wonderful celebration of student achievement, showcasing the inspiring qualities learners bring to their communities. We were honoured to review such strong and deserving nominations, each making a meaningful difference.

Last week, our Fundraising Officer, Eleanor Widdows, went to visit Trinity Court Care Home.

It was brilliant to be shown around and to hear about the support the team provides for the elderly in our community. It was also great to share more about the work we do at YMCA Burton and explore ways we can work together to help those who need it most. 💛

A big thank you to Jessica Patrick and the team for the warm welcome, the tour, and the lovely goody bag!

We look forward to working together and continuing to make a positive difference in our community. 🌟

Our Foodbank is currently experiencing exceptionally high demand and we are incredibly grateful for every donation, as every contribution helps ensure that individuals and families in our community have access to the essential items they need.

If you can support us, the image highlights the items typically included in a food parcel. We are very low on 🥫Chopped Tomatoes, 🥫Coffee, 🥫Tinned Potatoes, 🥫Tinned Soup and 🥫Long Life Milk at the moment.

🪥 🪒 We are also in desperate need of toiletry items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, baby wipes, disposable razors and sanitary products. 🙏

Items can be donated directly to the address below.

Our foodbank is there for you and is open 7 days a week – 9 am – 10 pm and located opposite Asda in Burton town centre at: Reconnect, James Street, Burton on Trent, DE14 3ST | Tel: 01283 547211

We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at the annual Alexander Accountancy Crazy Golf event at Branston Golf & Country Club yesterday…despite the weather!!! ☔

A huge thank you to everyone at Alexander Accountancy for supporting us and to everyone who attended and sponsored the event to raise money for YMCA Burton. It was brilliant!

Join us for a fantastic day of golf at our first-ever YMCA Burton Charity Golf Day on Wednesday, 22 July, at the Branston Golf & Country Club!

Starting with breakfast before heading off for a round of golf, where you can take on the challenges set by Ady Wheatcroft from Ace Golf Challenge. Afterwards, enjoy a hot meal and presentations. We also have space for single-player entries, so everyone is welcome!
