Washlands Women Runners is a running club based in Burton-on-Trent.

What a fantastic evening at the Washlands Relays – arguably (and admittedly in our very biased opinion!) the most fun race in the BDSL calendar! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

It was brilliant to see teams of 3 and 4 battling it out around the 2-mile Washlands loop, with plenty of friendly competition, team spirit, and encouragement all around the course. The rain may have made an appearance, but it certainly didn’t dampen the atmosphere!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported, marshalled, and cheered. Events like this are only possible because of the amazing running community we have.

Special thanks must go to Sally Porter, our Race Director, who once again did a fantastic job organising the event and making sure everything ran so smoothly. 👏

We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Join Our Beginner’s Running Course ✨👟

Our Beginner’s Course has practical run/walk sessions to help you gradually build up to running 2 miles by the end of the course. It is perfect for those looking to start or get back into running.

💫 What is great about our club?
• An inclusive environment with women of all ages and abilities. The ladies are always up for a chat and a laugh or to offer any running advice.
• You never get left behind - we always have a front and back coach - you will never be “too slow”!
• We have 2, 4 and 6 mile routes on offer each week and we vary the routes so you can explore new areas Burton.

WASHLANDS PARKRUN HEADLINER

Last Saturday, our club headed over to Rosliston Parkrun to volunteer and cheer on the runners, bringing plenty of energy and fun signs! Plus some yummy cake, as always! 🍰🙌

Hopefully we were able to give the regular volunteers a well-deserved rest 💛

🎄✨ Festive Fun ✨🎄

Last week was all about festive fun with running games and plenty of laughs, and this week we headed out on a Christmas Lights Run, trying to spot the best displays around Burton – some amazing lights out there!

Just a reminder that there will be no run on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve. Enjoy a well-earned break, soak up the festivities, and celebrate in style 🥂🎄

We’d like to wish all our runners a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We can’t wait to see everyone back and ready to run on Wednesday 7th January 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
