In 2009 the idea for a new style of festival was hatched by a team of people in Burton on Trent, the team between them had a vast experience in event organising with both venue owners, promotions manager and musicians among the team. The idea behind Burtfest was to put on a brilliant festival which would stay cheap and at the same time raise money for the local community. In June 2011 Burtfest o
pened for the first time at Burton Rugby ground and over 2 days raised a load of money for various charities with a host of the best local bands from Burton and the surrounding areas over 2 days. In 2012 Burtfest has raised it's game and now has some huge headliners as well as the best in up and coming talent from not only the local area but from around the UK, this year the festival will be held over 3 days (June 15-17th) and has camping, food stalls, comedy stage, fun fair and much more being confirmed all the time! At the moment Headliners include ska legends THE SELECTER on the Friday night, Rock legends Graham Oliver and Steve Dawson bring O/D SAXON on Saturday and those cheeky chaps from down south THE WURZELS on the Sunday with other top acts including InMe, The Skints, The Petebox and Burton's own Max Raptor as well as over 100 more! www.burtfest.com
