HELP!
We are inundated with requests to take in mothers with kittens at the moment, but we just have no space to put them. Here is a photo of one of the latest cats to come in from a feral colony, she has no name yet, we were supposed to be collecting 6 cats from her colony which we first started working with 3 years ago, but it turns out there are at least 9. We got 6 the day this girl was rescued and we have nowhere to put the remaining two, who are living next to a fast road and are at risk. Five weeks ago we got a call from a vet telling us one of the young cats we'd had neutered from this colony in 2023, had been found dead on the road. We've had so many from his colony hit on that road, so we are no longer returning cats caught there. Puss, who was called Lorenzo, has been buried in one of our fosterers gardens.
So how can you help us?
1) please please share our posts! We've noticed a drop in shares, and this is the only way we can reach people wanting to adopt. If we can't move cats into homes, we can't help others.
2) we work very closely with Norwich Cats Protection, with many of the outside living cats we bring in transferred to one of their fosterers after they've had their vet work done, as it is much easier for this to be done in one vet visit. With only a small handful of fosterers, they are also full, with a waiting list full of mums and kittens living outside 😿 Two of our volunteers are also C.P's tnr volunteers, so adopting C.P cats helps us with space too. Several of the cats and kittens currently ready at C.P Norwich have been waiting many months for adoption.
We will be posting a few of the cats we have just ready for adoption. If anyone feels they could be a fosterer for C.P, this would also help greatly, you would need a spare room, or no other cats in your home, and the cat would need to be kept indoors. Please message [email protected] for details.
(we're currently not taking on new fosterers ourselves, though we are hoping to be able to do so again in future).
