FRIDAY 28th August:
We are so lucky to have Naturemake Magical Seashore Creations running two sessions of craft to build your very own seashore creation. The first session starts at 10.30am or you can come later for the 1.00pm session. THERE ARE SPACES LEFT - this is normally quite an expensive activity so it is a fabulous opportunity to take part.
Take a look at the magical samples of Naturemake's work below!

The event is at the St Peter, St Paul & St Thomas Church Hall in Bovey Tracey at 10.30am to 2.30pm. It's a lovely venue with a nice enclosed garden. There will be free lunch for children (and often adults too!) served at around midday plus free drinks and snacks for all.

Open to all local families and any families who qualify for HAF places from anywhere in Devon CC area.

Did you know that we pay around £4,500 a year rent to Buckfastleigh Town Hall and Institute for our weekly pop-up social supermarket? In addition, we also pay rent for the space we use there for Hello Summer and other activities which varies each year, but it's typically over £1,000. Only the Town Council pays more rent to the Town Hall than us each year.

We also pay to use other Buckfastleigh spaces, including St Luke's Church and Buckfastleigh Open Air Pool - Victoria Park.

This support to important community assets is a deliberate part of our social strategy - channeling our grants and funding income to support much needed public buildings and keep local activities in our town.

Another great day as part of our free Hello Summer events!

Head to Parke and join the National Trust and Dartmoor National Park to make natural mini boats and rafts then stay for a picnic.

Who can make the floatiest, quickest or most agile boat, or the raft which can hold the biggest pebble?

Wednesday 26 August, 10.30am-1.30pm
Free event, with a complimentary packed lunch for children under 12, provided by Better Places.
No booking needed.
Car park charges apply at Parke if you're not a National Trust member.
Family friendly event, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
All boats will be made with natural string and must be collected from the river at the end of the activity.

Accessibility: Get to the site via a steep path from the Parke car park or along the flat disused railway line from Bovey Tracey Mill Marsh Park. The area by the river has uneven ground, slopes, and exposed tree roots.

What corker of a last day for Hello Summer Buckfastleigh!
A day trip to Plymouth with another coach joining from Bovey and Heathfield - including a good explore of art, history and treasures at The Box Plymouth , a brilliant play and sunny picnic at the new https://www.plymouth.gov.uk/armada-way and topped off with crafts, science and a special viewing of Our Story featuring David Attenborough at Market Hall Immersive 360 cinema in Devonport before home on the coach!
