Thank you so much to the FareShare South West Plymouth warehouse team who have filled our fridge with such amazing food over the last month, ensuring it was eaten rather than sent to landfill.

The Food Festival is coming up. Look for us on Saturday 12th September on Cleder Place (near the play park) where we will once again be selling our delicious jams, preserves and chutneys, lovingly made by volunteers from surplus produce collected lovingly by other volunteers. Come and support us by buying a few jars to help pay for our running costs!

Those little papery things in the Fridge are tomatillos & they make a lovely salsa, especially when roasted first. Here's a sample recipe but there are any others online

Our easy tomatillo salsa verde recipe made with roasted tomatillos is bright, zesty, slightly smoky, and makes everything taste better.

What a wonderful array of food has passed through the Fridge this week! Sweetcorn, padron peppers, courgettes, French beans, peas, lettuce, spring onions - and lots of it. None of this could happen without our volunteer drivers who collect the food and move it from Larder to Fridge throughout the day. Some are needing to step back and others are moving away. The Ashburton Community Freezer is repaired and up and running again!

It is located in , whose opening times are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 9am -4pm, and closed on Sunday. Please drop in and help yourself to free frozen goodies!

With huge thanks to the warehouse team FareShare South West for the amazing 292kgs of food which filled our community fridge multiple times over the weekend, and special thanks to our intrepid ACF driver Richard for collecting it all! plus our amazing larder team for getting it out to the fridge for everyone in the Ashburton community! 😊🙏🏻
