Carers' Support Centre

Carers' Support Centre The Carers' Support Centre is here to help support Carers in Northern Lincolnshire Our support is free and confidential.

If you look after someone who can manage without you because they have an illness, medical condition, disability, mental health condition or substance misuse problem, you are a Carer. You may help with managing medication, medical appointments, managing finances, washing and dressing, emotional support over the phone, moving and handling, weekly shopping... the list is endless. The support you pro

vide may take only an hour or two a week up to 24 hours a day. It doesn't matter how much or how little you provide, what matters is the person you provide support to needs your support. Carers are unpaid (so not Care Workers - the definition doesn't include volunteers either) but you may receive Carers Allowance. We have been supporting Carers in North Lincolnshire since 1989, and in North East Lincolnshire since 2014. You can access as much or as little support as you like. At it's most basic, we are here for advice and information, if you need a telephone number, have a question about caring or you're not sure where to turn. Get in touch via phone: 01652 6540585, email: [email protected], via facebook or pop in to the centre at 11 Redcombe Lane, Brigg, North Lincolnshire, DN20 8AU.

The Government is asking carers for their views on employment rights, including whether there should be a statutory right to paid Carer's Leave.

Unpaid carers across the country struggle to juggle work and care, and many can’t afford to take unpaid time off work. That's why this consultation is so important.

The consultation covers England, Scotland and Wales.

Your experience can help shape future support for working carers. Respond to the consultation here: https://bit.pulse.ly/7rl1sdzbtm
