Join us to help our SEND Scouts gain Skills for Life

We are looking for volunteers to join our SEND Scout Group based in Brackley, Northamptonshire

We are a specialist Scout Group for young people from 4-17yrs with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities. We help all of our young people gain skills for life and take part in adventures.

Volunteering is easier than you think. With full support and training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis. Whether it's organising refreshments or helping our Scouts cook on an open fire. There is an opportunity for all.

Give young people the skills they need to succeed in life and discover how being part of the Scouting family can be as rewarding for you as it is for them.

Volunteers will require a Scouts DBS and training will be provided.

To our scouts that went on camp they had a great time and even better with the sunshine. There will be another opportunity to attend this camp in August for ones that were unable to do so this time round. More details will follow nearer the time.

Also our next scouts session will be on Sunday 14th June where the scouts will be involved in an adventurous session - locations and times to be confirmed.

Wish all our scouts off on the camping trip to Thomley Hall on Friday 22nd May to Saturday 23rd May a great time. There is likely to be another opportunity in August for ones that cant attend this one.

Due to the camping trip we wont be having our regular session on Sunday the 24th May and therefore the next session will be on Sunday 14th of June where the scouts will be joining in with an adventurous themed session- the location and timings of this to be confirmed.

Yesterday our scouts enjoyed our photography session around St James Lake where they engaged in a photography scavenger hunt where they had to find certain things to photograph whilst walking round the lake as well as having time to take photos of their choosing and they also had a chance to make art out of natural materials. The scouts enjoyed the outing to the lake.

Our scouts will have the opportunity to sign up for a camping experience at Thomley Hall from Friday 22nd May (from 4pm) to Saturday 23rd May (until 330pm). For more details follow this link:

Our next session on Sunday 10th May will be our photography themed session at the local lake in order for our scouts to work towards their photography badge.
Please get in touch if your interested in getting your child involved in this amazing opportunity.

Yesterday our scouts enjoyed the sunshine and had fun joining in with science themed activities. Yesterday our scouts joined in with many science experiments including mentos and coke, balloon rockets and oobleck slime.

Our next session will be on Sunday 12th of May during our normal session time but will run off site as we are doing a photography session around the local lake in order for the scouts to work towards their photography badge. This Sunday (26th April) our scouts will be joining in on a science themed session where there are multiple science activities for them to join in with. Science activities include an volcano experiment using bicarbonate of soda, light and shadow activity, balloon rockets, ice investigation and Oobleck slime.

Come and join in the science fun at Brackley Junior School on Sunday 26th April between 2 and 4.

Yesterday (Sunday 12th April) our scouts joined in with our Celebration of Scouts session. There were a range of activities set up for the group to enjoy from making their own instruments from junk modelling, exploring the foam sensory tray to find the membership badge pictures inside, creating a flour de lis out of a biscuit and colouring a membership badge also and an fun scavenger hunt for them to enjoy linked to the history of scouts. Some of our scouts also completed their promise in order to become a member of their group.

Our next session will be on Sunday 26th of April which will be a science themed session.

Join us this Sunday (12th April) at Brackley Junior School from 2-4pm where we will be doing a session on the Celebration of Scouting. In this session the scouts will be learning about scouts , making instruments out of junk modelling and being investured for the ones that havent already and some other fun activities for them to enjoy.
