Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day operation of Wake House. This is a part-time role involving general maintenance, basic DIY, room set-up for events, and ensuring the building remains safe, secure, and compliant with health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
β€’ Carry out basic DIY and maintenance tasks
β€’ Prepare and set up rooms for events
β€’ Undertake basic gardening duties to maintain outdoor areas
β€’ Assist with painting and decorating as required
β€’ Ensure the building is safe, secure, and well-maintained
β€’ Carry out routine health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing and compliance tasks
β€’ Identify, report, and respond to hazards or maintenance issues in line with health and safety procedures
β€’ Unlocking and locking up the building when required
β€’ Provide occasional cover during staff holidays
β€’ Support events, including occasional weekend working

Person Specification
β€’ Practical skills in DIY and general maintenance
β€’ Basic understanding of health and safety requirements although full training will be given
β€’ Reliable, and able to work independently but also as part of a team.
β€’ Good time management and organisational skills

Additional Information
β€’ Occasional weekend work may be required during events/ holiday cover
