Blyth Rugby Club Blyth Rugby Club was reformed in 1961 by Peter Daley and Bernie Cranmer, following an earlier club that existed from 1921 to 1937. Based at Plessey Road.

We’re closing in on £2,000 raised through player sponsorship already this season — and that’s absolutely massive for Blyth RFC.

Every single bit of support goes straight back into the club: helping us kit players out, maintain facilities, support matchday costs, and keep rugby accessible for everyone involved. It genuinely makes a difference week in, week out.

A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored a player so far — your backing doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s a big part of what keeps this club moving forward on and off the pitch.

New season incoming at Blyth RFC, and the Candy League is back.

A proper mix of old friends, new faces, and the usual suspects who somehow always find their way back onto a team sheet.

While the rest of the leagues are still doing their admin and working out what the tables even look like… at least we know where we stand: good rugby, good lads, and a third half that never lets us down.

The Candy League isn’t about overcomplicating things — it’s about getting a game, having a laugh, and making sure the bar takings stay healthy.

💚🖤 RE-SIGNED | LEE GALLON 🖤💚

Another familiar face is back for the new season as Lee Gallon commits to Blyth RFC.

After taking some time away from the game, Lee has returned looking fitter, stronger and in arguably the best shape of his life. He's worked hard off the pitch and is ready to bring that energy back to Plessey Road.

Of course, some things never change...

"They call me Reggie, cos I'm on the register."

We haven't got a clue either, but we're glad he's back.

After stepping into the senior team last season, Josh Jones is back in green & black and ready for another year at Plessey Road.

Having come through the Red Bulls academy pathway, Josh is another young player continuing to make the step into senior rugby at Blyth.

His mentality?

“Don’t cut corners.”

🌟 PLAYER FOCUS: LEWIS CONROY 🌟

Only just turned 18, but Lewis is already settling into senior rugby at Plessey Road with real maturity 💚🖤

Comfortable at 12 or 15, he’s hit the ground running since stepping up — showing he’s more than capable of handling the step into men’s rugby. Composed, reliable, and quickly becoming part of the group.

With 11 years in the game behind him, the foundations are there… and the early signs are very promising for what’s ahead 👀

When asked what he enjoys most about rugby, his answer says it all:

Tonight we swap muddy boots for shirts (some of us might even iron them) as we celebrate another season at Blyth RFC 💚🖤

A chance to recognise the graft, the hits, the tries, the sideline shouting, the volunteers, and of course dish out a few awards… with the odd questionable speech thrown in for good measure 👀

And because we know priorities matter… food tonight will be provided by the brilliant Punjab Caterers Newcastle 🌶️🍛

Another Bank Holiday weekend… so naturally there’ll be more beers 🍻

This Sunday, Brentwood RFC make the trip north to Plessey Road as the tourists come to town for a 12PM KO 🏉

We’ve got lads joining us from around the county to help give the visitors a proper Blyth welcome 👀
