The fixtures are confirmed and the countdown is on for our First XV as we embark on the inaugural Counties 3 North East season.

A fresh league, new challenges, new rivalries and plenty of local derby action await as Blyth RFC takes on clubs from across the North East.

From the opening fixture against Houghton II in September to the final trip of the season in March, every game will be another opportunity to represent the green and black with pride.

We really appreciate this kind of support in the community. It all goes towards making things better for the club and its members.

πŸ‰ Good to meet with volunteers at Blyth Rugby club on Friday as they were presented with a cheque from Persimmon homes. 🏑
Stuart Grimes Persimmon’s North East managing director was on hand to pass over the cheque to Tim Snaith Blyth’s head of Junior Rugby. The work that has been done on the Plessey Road site is phenomenal and there are now hundreds more kids playing rugby in Blyth because of the clubs dedication to the sport and the Blyth community.
The funds will go towards Junior Tackle bags and further facility upgrades. A huge thank you to the dedicated volunteers who keep this club thriving, even during the off-season with plenty of graft going on behind the scenes! πŸ™Œ πŸ‰ BlythRugby

πŸ‰ A New Chapter for Blyth RFC First XV πŸ‰

The league structures for next season have been released, and Blyth RFC will compete in the brand new North East Counties 3 North.

This newly created league brings together a mix of established 1st XVs and, for the first time, the 2nd and 3rd teams of some of the region's larger clubs. It makes for an interesting blend of rugby, with familiar faces, new opposition, and plenty of local derbies to look forward to.

We'll be lining up against:

πŸ“ Consett 2
πŸ“ Durham City 2
πŸ“ Gateshead 2
πŸ“ Houghton 2
πŸ“ Percy Park 2
πŸ“ Ryton 2
πŸ“ Seaham
πŸ“ Washington
πŸ“ DMP 3

At least we know what our league looks like now... πŸ‘€

A fresh challenge, some new grounds to visit, and another season of representing Blyth with pride.

We’re closing in on Β£2,000 raised through player sponsorship already this season β€” and that’s absolutely massive for Blyth RFC.

Every single bit of support goes straight back into the club: helping us kit players out, maintain facilities, support matchday costs, and keep rugby accessible for everyone involved. It genuinely makes a difference week in, week out.

A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored a player so far β€” your backing doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s a big part of what keeps this club moving forward on and off the pitch.

There’s still time to get involved if you’d like to sponsor a player for the season and support the lads directly.

New season incoming at Blyth RFC, and the Candy League is back.

A proper mix of old friends, new faces, and the usual suspects who somehow always find their way back onto a team sheet.

While the rest of the leagues are still doing their admin and working out what the tables even look like… at least we know where we stand: good rugby, good lads, and a third half that never lets us down.

The Candy League isn’t about overcomplicating things β€” it’s about getting a game, having a laugh, and making sure the bar takings stay healthy.

See you on the pitch.
