🎖Remembrance Parades 🎖
Over the weekend, our Cadets and uniformed CFAVs proudly took part in Remembrance Parades across our local community.
On Saturday, a small group of cadets attended the Newsham Community Hall Service of Remembrance, where a wreath was laid on behalf of the ATC by one of our cadets.
On Sunday, all cadets and staff joined the Blyth Remembrance Parade at the cenotaph. Our Commanding Officer, Flt Lt Douglas Stuart, laid a wreath representing both the Royal Air Force and the RAF Air Cadets. Later in the day, cadets also supported the Bedlington Parade, marching alongside our friends from 2522 (Bedlington) Squadron ATC.
These parades are an important way for cadets to honour those who served in conflict and gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. They also remind us of the continued importance of peace in our world.
As we move into the week leading up to Remembrance Day, some of our cadets will be attending their schools in uniform to take part in additional remembrance services, including the Sunrise Service at Blyth Beach on Tuesday morning. Cadets from Bede Academy will also be representing the squadron during remembrance assemblies, standing alongside other uniformed organisations across our community.
We are incredibly proud of every cadet and CFAV who has taken part this weekend, not only from our own squadron, but across the country. A huge thank you as well to our friends at for their continued support.
