🚨GOOD NEWS FOR BLYTH!🚨

After seeing the post from Blyth Air Cadets last night about their stolen trailer, we shared it on the Copper Cars page to help spread the word.

This morning our desk staff took a call from a member of the public who thought they might know where it was👀

The office messaged me straight away I went to check it out on my way into work…

✅And we found it.

The stolen trailer has now been recovered and reunited with Blyth Air Cadets🫡

This is exactly what community is all about.

People looking out for each other, sharing posts, making calls… and getting results.

Massive credit to:
💙 The member of the public who spoke up
💙 Our office staff for acting fast
💙 Everyone who shared the post

We’re proud to be part of a community like this.

Because we’re not just a taxi company…..

We are Copper Cars.🚖

It’s been found! It’s had a bit of a beating but we think the majority of the kit is still in there so thank you all so much for helping us to retrieve it especially all the shares, the complete stranger walking their dog who found it his morning and Copper Cars who, when contacted this morning, went to where it had been dumped and waited until a member of staff arrived - we are so grateful for your help!

Hi, our compound was broken into over the weekend and our trailer filled various tents, gazebos, sports equipment etc. stolen. The purpose of this post is to see if anyone has seen this trailer and/or any further information as to where it is or who stole it. Our compound is opposite the Crematorium on Cowpen Road. If you do have info then please let us know, the equipment and trailer were bought following extensive fundraising by the cadets themselves and are very expensive to replace!

🎖️ Mayoral Visit 🎖️

This evening, we were pleased to welcome Mayor Cllr David Swinhoe of Blyth and Deputy Mayor Cllr Rick Baker to the squadron. During their visit, they were given an insight into cadet life, observing the wide range of experiences and training that take place on a typical parade night.

Meanwhile, cadets took part in their respective projects:

✈️ Flight Simulator – Cadets developing flying skills and practising formation flying.

📚 Military History – Learning about the formation and development of the Special Air Service (SAS).

📱 Public Relations – Preparing for an upcoming open evening and developing social media skills.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Blyth for taking the time to visit and support the squadron. It was a pleasure to showcase what our cadets achieve each week.

A great evening for all involved.

⛺️ Fieldcraft Skills ⛺️

Tonight, cadets practiced foundation level fieldcraft skills such as learning about harbour areas and century duties as well engaging in a practical exercise involving the different forms of shelters than can be constructed in the field using surrounding nature and equipment such as basha poles.

🏕 The skills covered tonight serve as vital practice of skills that will be put to the test on our upcomming squadron camp which will be held at RAF Spadeadam in May, and will partly focus on developing leadership and fieldcraft skills with cadets.

Well done to all who took part in tonights exercises! 👏

Last night, 1000 (Blyth) Squadron held a highly successful Dining In Night at the Masonic Hall, bringing cadets and staff together for an enjoyable evening to reflect on the past year and recognise key achievements and milestones within the squadron.

🏆 The Flight Competition Trophy was awarded to B Flight. It was a closely contested competition between A Flight and B Flight throughout the year; however, following the most recent Flight Competition Night, B Flight emerged as the overall winners.

⭐ Cadet Spratt was named Cadet of the Year, in recognition of his outstanding contribution within the squadron, as well as his consistent participation and commitment to out-of-squadron events and activities.

📈 We were pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeant Miller-Hall to the rank of Flight Sergeant, recognising his significant contribution to squadron administration alongside his continued leadership and dedication.

🎖️ The evening also marked a farewell to Cadet Warrant Officer Venner, who steps down after six years of dedicated service. We extend our sincere thanks for his leadership, commitment, and the lasting impact he has made on the squadron during his time in post.

🤝 Our sincere thanks go to Blyth Masonic Buildings for kindly hosting the event and for their continued support of the squadron.

👏 A thoroughly enjoyable and memorable evening — thank you to everyone who contributed to making the event such a success.

🌅 Sunrise Service 🌅

This morning, 1000 (Blyth) Squadron alongside the CCF (Royal Navy) contingent of Bede Academy took part in sunrise service at Blyth Beach.

The service included prayers, songs, bible readings and a two minute silence to remember those who gave their life fighting for peace and freedom.

We would like to thank all cadets, Bede Academy students and members of the community who came to show their respects.

We will remember them.

🎖Remembrance Parades 🎖

Over the weekend, our Cadets and uniformed CFAVs proudly took part in Remembrance Parades across our local community.

On Saturday, a small group of cadets attended the Newsham Community Hall Service of Remembrance, where a wreath was laid on behalf of the ATC by one of our cadets.

On Sunday, all cadets and staff joined the Blyth Remembrance Parade at the cenotaph. Our Commanding Officer, Flt Lt Douglas Stuart, laid a wreath representing both the Royal Air Force and the RAF Air Cadets. Later in the day, cadets also supported the Bedlington Parade, marching alongside our friends from 2522 (Bedlington) Squadron ATC.

These parades are an important way for cadets to honour those who served in conflict and gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. They also remind us of the continued importance of peace in our world.

As we move into the week leading up to Remembrance Day, some of our cadets will be attending their schools in uniform to take part in additional remembrance services, including the Sunrise Service at Blyth Beach on Tuesday morning. Cadets from Bede Academy will also be representing the squadron during remembrance assemblies, standing alongside other uniformed organisations across our community.

We are incredibly proud of every cadet and CFAV who has taken part this weekend, not only from our own squadron, but across the country. A huge thank you as well to our friends at for their continued support.
