Did you know we don't just use our gritters in cold weather?

Hot weather can cause some road surfaces to soften and break up. We’re responding by spreading sand using our gritters to help stabilise the surface and limit damage. In some cases, short-term road closures may be needed while conditions improve.

Please take extra care when travelling and report any issues through our website so we can act quickly.

The secret war you were never meant to see.
Codebreakers – The Story of Enigma comes to The Exchange this July, uncovering one of the most remarkable and little-understood parts of the Second World War.

The Germans believed their Enigma machine was unbreakable – a code system so complex it could be reset millions of ways, every single day.
They were wrong.

This talk by Dr Mark Baldwin brings the story of Bletchley Park and the Allied codebreakers to life – revealing how intercepted messages helped turn the tide of the war, and may have shortened it by years.

And this isn’t just a talk.

You’ll also have the chance to see – and experience – a real Enigma machine up close, something very few people ever get to do.

CAUTION - Bryanston Woods
Due to the extreme conditions we’re currently experiencing, a significant amount of stress has been put on the trees in the woods, including those that appear healthy. As a result, there is an increased risk of trees shedding limbs without warning. Limbs will fall suddenly without any visible signs.
Please avoid walking dogs in the woods for the rest of the week. The team on site will be monitoring the situation.
