Another Super Chipmunk 1/5th scale powered by OS 33GT engine needs refurbishing and updating. My Pepsi is 10 years old and need a little attention. The full size Pepsi Sky Dancer was purchased by Nathan Hammond in 2016 and was converted to Ghost Writer. So I will do the same. Read the story...

Super Chipmunk N114V 1/5th scale needs refurbishing after 12 years. Covering delaminating and decals fading or peeling off. Also need flaps to be created. Originally powered by SC 180 FS then 10 years ago with OS 33GT engine. It did not turn out as easy as thought. Read the story.

Back again on the slopes - that's four Saturdays within the last 5 weeks. This week a South Westerly facing slope with a nice tight bowl shape.. Continues to be too windy for power flying generally. This week Dave R has acquired an AHI too. Albeit he was still assembling the final parts on the slope! Earlier one AHI was probably destroyed after meeting the hillside. Whether foam safe glue can save it this time we will have to see.

Wind was good Sou-Westerly from 10.30am, average 14 but gusting up to 25. But by 2pm the wind died back as the wet weather was approaching which kept the flying wings down but the gliders were fine. the last parts of the clip show Dave getting the feel of his new glider.

Another Windy Saturday - Slope soaring Again. Win Green, Dorset this time with Nor-Westerly forecast. We are in the FRZ for Compton Abbas aerodrome so with a quick call to ATC (we have an agreement) we can start the days action. A few short, light showers but not enough to make a run for the cars nearby. Temps vary from 12C to 6C on whether the Sun is shining or hidden behind the clouds, but wind chill drops it further. Never mind we are here to fly not complain!

As the October weather in the UK is now going downhill with strong winds and rain, the slope "gang" took the opportunity on Saturday 18th October for some flying time aka battles with combat wings, Wild Things and anything else that dares to fly. Here is a mobile taken clip (thanks Peter) of some of the action and "take downs", the latter you try very hard to avoid because it is long way down into the valley.😄

High winds forecast but sunny skies. Winds mean no power flying but what else to do? Slope Soaring of course! A few of us visited a popular valley we call a bowl. Here the 15mph winds will increase significantly as it enter the bowl and lifts over. Great fun and lots of laughter chasing each other. Also flown was Pete's lovely composite glider. A real speedster.

Memorial Fun Day 2025. Weather just right, not too hot and sunny blue skies. Warbird formations from the P47 group. Highlight of the day was the Chuck glider Competition. An event all can join in. Chuck glider designed and laser cut out of balsa by one of our members, thanks Chris. Add tubes of thin cyano and some plasticine for ballast. A great laugh was had by all. Thanks too to Matt and those who helped out on the day.

First up was the individual chuck/launch followed by the inevitable mass launch. The Evening rounded up by some camping overnight for another BBQ and some drinks around the firepit.

Unfortunately, due to rain and high winds, today’s part of the event is unlikely to go ahead.
