Gorgeous Jaffa nearly a year old now has just had her vaccinations, been spayed and microchipped and now ready for rehoming. 🐱
Nothing dramatic. No emergency operation or terrible injury.
Just the everyday veterinary care that every cat coming through Tenderpaws needs — and those costs quickly add up when you're caring for so many.
Thanks to your amazing support we finally managed to clear our £3,447.70 August vet bill.
But September's bill is now on its way, and cats like Jaffa are the reason the veterinary costs keep coming.
This time we're determined to try to get ahead before the bill lands, rather than desperately trying to catch up afterwards.

❤️🐾 THANK YOU — AUGUST'S VET BILL IS FINALLY COVERED 🐾❤️
We have some good news — and we genuinely couldn't have done it without you.
Our August veterinary bill came to £3,447.70 and, after pulling together your donations, the funds we finally have enough to pay it.
That's a huge relief. ❤️
But we also want to be honest about where we are.
We're now in October — and September's vet bill will arrive shortly.
This is the cycle we're desperately trying to break.
While we're raising enough to pay one month's bill, another month of veterinary treatment is building behind it. At the same time, we still have cats in our care who need food and litter, cats waiting to be neutered and microchipped, shop rent to pay, and cats waiting for their forever homes.
We don't just want to keep catching up. We desperately need to get ahead.
So, although today we're incredibly grateful that August can finally be paid, our fundraising must continue.
Over the next few days, we'll introduce you to more of the cats currently relying on Tenderpaws and show you exactly what your support makes possible.

🐾❤️ THESE ARE SOME OF THE REASONS WE NEED TO KEEP GOING ❤️🐾
Thanks to your incredible support, we now have £2,600 towards our £3,400 vet bill.
That means we have just £800 left to find. ❤️
We can't quite believe how far you've helped us come in just a few days.
But while we're getting closer to clearing this bill, the next cats are already waiting for their turn.
These gorgeous faces are some of the cats currently in our care. They still need to be neutered and prepared for adoption, while we continue providing their food, litter and everyday care.
And then, of course, they need homes. 🏡❤️
This is why rescue never really stops. As one bill is paid, there are more cats needing veterinary care and more mouths to feed.

🐾❤️ YOU'VE BEEN AMAZING — BUT WE NEED A LITTLE HELP WITH THE FOOD CUPBOARD! ❤️🐾
We honestly can't thank everyone enough for the support you've shown us.
Since our last update, you've helped us put nearly ANOTHER £500 towards the outstanding vet bills! 🥹❤️
That's absolutely incredible and is helping us slowly chip away at it..
Unfortunately, while we're trying to raise as much as we possibly can at the vets, all the other costs of rescue carry on too.
The cats still need feeding every day, we need litter, and we have shop rent and all the other everyday expenses to pay.
So we're asking for a slightly different kind of help today...

❤️ MEET PEPE — ANOTHER REASON YOUR DONATIONS MATTER
When Pepe came to Tenderpaws he was terribly matted. His coat was in such a state that an enormous amount of fur had to be removed. 💔
He was also unneutered and had no microchip.
Just look at those photos... and then look at Pepe now. ❤️
He's almost unrecognisable!
But Pepe's story with us isn't finished. He's still waiting for his forever home, and while he waits, we continue to provide his food, litter and everyday care.
This is something people perhaps don't always see about rescue. The costs don't stop once a cat has seen the vet.
We pay for veterinary treatment, neutering and microchipping, as well as feeding and caring for our cats for however long it takes to find the right home.
Adoption donations are incredibly important too. When one of our cats finds their forever home, their adoption donation goes straight back into helping us care for the next cat who needs us. 🐾
Yesterday you were AMAZING. ❤️ Thankyou to all of you who donated so far .
Following Henry's story, £535 was donated towards our outstanding vet bill, bringing our £3,200 shortfall down to £2,665.
We still have a long way to go, so today we're asking:

🚨 WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP
We're almost at the end of September and we're still trying to pay our £3,400 August vet bill.
And while we're trying to catch up, another month of vet bills, food and litter is already mounting up.
This is Henry. ❤️
Henry came to Tenderpaws as a stray with a wound, needing veterinary treatment and somewhere safe to recover.
Just look at him then... and look at him now. 🥹❤️
This is what your donations make possible.
Henry is doing brilliantly, but his journey isn't over yet. He's still in our care, which means food, litter and ongoing care, and he still needs to be neutered before we can find him the right forever home.
And Henry is just one of the 50 + cats depending on us.
