2505 - Bishop Auckland Squadron - Royal Air Force Air Cadets 2505 (Bishop Auckland) Squadron is part of the Air Cadet Organisation which is based on and supported by the Royal Air Force.

Bishop Auckland Squadron is based within the TA centre grounds on St Andrews Road. We meet on Mondays and Thursdays, 18.45 - 21.30. Any young person aged 12 (and in Year 8) - 17 is welcome to join! You don't have to have plans to join the RAF (although being an air cadet will help if you do apply). Our cadets take part in a wide range of activities, including: shooting, flying, gliding, Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, day walks, parades, adventure training...the list is endless!

They have done it!!!!

Led by 2505 Sqn cadets including those from 234 (City of Durham) Squadron ATC and 1407 Newton Aycliffe Squadron RAFAC today have climbed 2,232 metres in less than 8 hours. This is the equivalent of Ben Nevis and Scarfell pike.

A great end to our National Cadet week activities.

Huge thank you to ROF 59 Climbing Centre for supporting the event and everyone in involved.

To finish off our Duke of Edinburgh expedition we also visited the memorial at Willington as part of the sqn’s Battle of Britain tribute.
