Dear Nature Group Members and Associate Members Just a reminder that we have got two events coming up next week.
The first of these is a field visit on Wednesday 14th January consisting of a walk down the river from Spellbrook Lock primarily for winter bird life. We shall be looking over Hallingbury Marsh SSSI and then progress down the river overlooking Hallingbury Mill Marsh, crossing the river at Tednambury Loch and returning over the railway crossing point to Spellbrook Lane. The route is just under two miles gentle walking but it could be muddy in places. There is roadside parking in Dell Lane but take care of traffic and potholes. TL 49168 17570. W3W sheets. fall. scuba CM22 7SG. These field visits during the winter months are always going to be weather dependent and currently the forecast for next Wednesday is not great so it is possible that there will be a cancellation at reasonably short notice. Please let me know if you are planning to attend and looking forward to your support.

On Sunday 14th December we have got the Nature Group Big Forest Bird Watch Meet at 8:00 AM at the main entrance to the forest at Bush end. this will be a great opportunity for any novice birders because you will be teamed up with an experienced birder to help with identifications. If you are planning to come along do please be there promptly for 8:00 AM Because the main gate will be locked behind us and you will not be able to get in. The results will be contributed to the National Trust Eco Survey of the forest.

Autmn Walk in Hatfield Forest.

Dear Nature Group members, Just a reminder that we have got the above meeting next Wednesday 12th November. Meet in the main car park at the main forest entrance 10:00 AM. We shall we shall be looking out for fungi in the grassland and woods as well as doing some detective work on what might have eaten hazelnuts. As I understand it there has been no evidence found of dormice as yet but there's no reason why we cannot have a look for ourselves. If you are intending to come along it would be helpful if you can let me know so we know who to expect. Thanks for your continuing support for the Nature Group.
