💙 Today our CEO, Rev. Dean Aaron Roberts, is at St Paul’s Cathedral in London representing The Parish Trust at a very special service marking 10 years of AtaLoss and the launch of the Bereavement Matters Season.

More than 1,300 people from across public life, Parliament, healthcare, the arts, faith communities and the bereavement sector are gathering to help give a greater public voice to bereavement and the support available to those experiencing loss.

🙏 Dean will be taking part in the Evensong service and leading some of the prayers.

🕯️ At the heart of the service will be a moving act of remembrance, with candles lit in memory of loved ones and their names displayed within St Paul’s Cathedral.

Bereavement affects every community, and supporting people through grief is an important part of our wellbeing work at The Parish Trust.

🌱 We are also planning further The Bereavement Journey® courses in the New Year, providing a safe and supportive space for people to explore their grief alongside others.

💫 What a great day we have had at Trethomas Life Centre!

⭐️ A successful music workshop in collaboration with Better You Better Me Records, the young people wrote about the seasons- look out for the video soon 🥁 🎸 😁

🍴 We had a lovely group for a lunch club where families came together to enjoy home cooked meals and socialise.

💚 As part of we had volunteers helping to make Trethomas Life Centre's vision come to life.

👉️ There is still more to come this week with our youth club on Fridays 6.30-8pm 10+ activities planned this week💥 pumpkin craving 🎃 , Potion Making and spooky banana muffins

⭐️ Free Music Workshop ⭐️ ⭐️ The Big Garden Event & Trethomas Life Centre⭐️

Thursday 29th October at Trethomas Life Centre 9.30-12pm and stay for lunch from 12 onwards for a hot meal: On the menu homemade soup and Jacket potato with cheese & beans.

Come along and make music with your friends and meet like minded people!

The music workshop will provide an opportunity to learn new skills:

🎶 What a wonderful evening! 🎶

On Saturday night, The Parish Trust Community Choir joined forces with the choir of St James’ Church, Rudry, along with a fantastic group of musicians, for a special fundraising concert.

Despite the rather wild weather outside, it was brilliant to see so many people come along and fill the evening with music and community spirit. ❤️

The concert raised funds to support the work of both St James’ Church and The Parish Trust, and we’re so grateful to everyone who performed, helped behind the scenes, bought tickets and came along to support us.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening and a lovely example of what can happen when our communities come together. 🎵👏

💙 LET’S TALK ABOUT GRIEF.

This Sunday, Rev. Dean Aaron Roberts, our CEO, will be speaking on BBC Radio Wales about bereavement, grief and why good support matters.

Bereavement has become an increasingly important part of our work at The Parish Trust.

🌿 We work with AtaLoss as the national Ambassador for The Bereavement Journey® in Wales, helping people find a safe place to process loss.

🏛️ Dean is also a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Grief Support and the Impact of Death on Society, helping to bring a Welsh voice a third-sector voice into the national conversation about grief.

🧒 And in the new year, after nearly a year of research and development, we’ll be launching our new grief programme specifically for children and young people; an important next step in making sure bereavement support is available at every stage of life.

There is no one way to grieve. And nobody should have to do it alone. 💙

Megan, our new Early Years Programme Manager, had the absolute pleasure of covering Tommy’s Tots this morning. It was so wonderful to see so many smiling faces - children and adults alike - we made pumpkin handprints 🥰✋🎃, read Stick Man and sang with the parachute ❤️

Our usual Tommy’s Tots leader, Lucy, does an amazing job with this group! We missed you this morning, Lucy!!
