MIND Active MIND Active supports meaningful activities with older people living in residential and nursing homes in Northumberland.

MIND Active facilitates mind stimulating social inclusion activities and wider community well-being events with older people from residential care and nursing homes and isolated and marginalised older people from their own homes. We provide activities in local community venues inviting several care homes to meet and enjoy lunch, music and opportunities to be with others to dance, sing or simply en

joy the atmosphere. We also invite people with dementia and their loved ones from their own homes to join in with the community days, enabling them to share quality time together rather than respite apart. The charity is based in Bedlington and operates across the South East corner of the region, supported by donations and grants. The project's life enhancing activities challenge isolation and loneliness, promotes value, respect, understanding and involvement of marginalised older people. Donations help us to support hundreds of older people living in a large number of care homes as well as a growing number of people with dementia living in their own homes. Our efforts also support the quality of life of involved carers in their workplace, and visitors and family can also feel a sense of satisfaction knowing their loved ones are engaging in meaningful activities and community interaction, keeping residents and people with dementia stimulated. Every penny of our award winning charity is helping to make a difference.
