What an incredible way to end the term!

Our Brookvale Guiding girls had the best evening celebrating an amazing term together. Our Rainbows enjoyed alpaca walking and pottery painting, while our Brownies, Guides and Rangers put their skills to the test with axe throwing, had lots of laughs in the zorb balls, and finished with a colourpicnic together.

What a fantastic evening full of adventure, friendship and fun. We hope everyone has a wonderful summer, and we can't wait to see you all next term!

🪨✨ Keep your eyes peeled! ✨🪨

Our Brookvale Brownies have been spreading a little kindness by creating Positive Pebbles and hiding them around War Memorial Park!

If you're out for a walk, see if you can spot one. If you do find a pebble, we'd love to see where it ended up! Snap a photo, share it in the comments below!

What a fantastic day at Herons Wey! Our Brookvale Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers teamed up for an action-packed day of high ropes, shelter building, pioneering, grass sledges and outdoor cooking.

It was brilliant to see all four sections working together, trying new challenges, building confidence and making new friends. A huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who made the day possible, and to Herons Wey for such a fantastic experience. We can't wait for our next adventure!

Brookvale Guiding was proud to represent at this year's Basingstoke Festival parade with Kempshot Guides. From ladybirds and unicorns to dragons, butterflies and all kinds of fantastical creatures, our Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers looked absolutely amazing.

A huge thank you to all of our young members, leaders and parents who joined us for the evening. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces enjoying the celebrations and representing Girlguiding so brilliantly.

We'd also like to give a very special thank you to the incredible Beckie and Claire from Scratch Built Productions, who ran workshops to help our girls create many of the fantastic costumes and accessories seen in the parade, we couldn't have done it without you.

Last night our Brookvale Rangers swapped the meeting hall for the padel court for an evening of sport, music, laughter and a little bit of chaos!

Some discovered hidden padel talents, some discovered how hard it is to hit the ball without doing pirouettes, and some decided the karaoke hotseat deckchairs topped it all!

Well done to all our Rangers for giving something new a go, sorry to parents for the sand filled cars, and thank you to Punk Padel for having us!

This morning, our Brookvale leaders received a very special surprise. Over the past few months, our girls and parents have been secretly working on a mission to share messages of thanks, appreciation, and kindness with the volunteers who make Brookvale such a special place to be.

To all of our Brookvale leaders: thank you for every meeting planned, every trip organised, every badge earned, every challenge overcome, and every smile you've helped create. We are incredibly lucky to have you.

Last night our Brookvale Guides and Rangers teamed up with the incredible Jane from Tesco Chineham for their annual Food Bank Challenge!

The girls got a behind-the-scenes tour of the store, exploring the freezers, delivery areas and learning more about how a supermarket operates day-to-day. They were then set the challenge of creating a meal for a family of four with a budget of less than £10.

A huge thank you to Jane and everyone at Tesco Chineham for such an eye-opening, fun and meaningful evening supporting our local community.

Last week our Brookvale Brownies, Guides and Rangers took on BEASTLY alongside over 2,000 young people from across the area. From climbing and fire lighting to balloon animals and police vans, the girls threw themselves into every moment.

We are so proud of the confidence, kindness, resilience and enthusiasm they showed throughout the day.

A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers, organisers and activity teams who made such a huge event possibleand of course to our amazing Brookvale leaders and parents for all their support too.

Ahead of celebrating International Women’s Day with our units tonight, the Brookvale leaders have been reflecting on why we’re so passionate about empowering girls.

Between us, our leadership team has over 300 years of Girlguiding experience. The girls you see in this photo are actually us, many years ago, standing in our uniforms. We were once the girls sitting in the circle, playing games and earning badges, inspired by the incredible women who guided us, encouraged us, and helped us believe in ourselves.

Those incredible women made us feel seen, heard and valued. They gave us confidence, opportunities, and the skills to grow into the women and leaders we are today. For that, we will always be grateful and now, it’s our turn to inspire the next generation.

So tonight, as we celebrate International Women’s Day with our girls, we do so in honour of the leaders who came before us the women who inspired us, supported us, and showed us that girls truly can do anything.

What an incredible weekend we’ve had at Brookvale Guiding!

We brought our whole Brookvale family together to celebrate World Thinking Day, from Rainbows to Rangers. Together, we travelled the world exploring different countries through crafts, dancing, games, and songs, while celebrating the amazing global sisterhood we are all part of. At each stop, the girls collected a bead for their bracelet, with every bead being a powerful reminder that they are part of something truly global.

There was laughter, creativity, teamwork, and so many proud smiles. It was so special to see all sections learning, growing, and celebrating together. A huge thank you to Younginmind for sponsoring the event and inspiring our girls, showing them that they really can do anything. Thank you to Morrisons Basingstoke Community for keeping us refreshed with squash and biscuits and to Brookvale – heart of Basingstoke for providing a safe, welcoming space for our girls to come together each week, grow, and have fun.
