We made some yummy lemon biscuits this morning in Cooking Club. 🍋

The children did so well with their mixing today, using all their strength to beat the sugar and butter together. They also showed great skill when grating the lemon zest and used lots of fine motor control when squeezing the lemons to get the juice for the icing.

This activity supported several areas of the EYFS curriculum. The children developed their physical development through strengthening their hand and arm muscles, improving coordination, and refining their fine motor skills.

They also practised listening and following instructions, and working safely with equipment, supporting their personal, social and emotional development.

There was lots of conversation’s around the smell of the lemon and the textures!

The children also enjoyed tasting the lemon, there were some funny faces pulled!

Everyone worked really hard and enjoyed making their delicious biscuits!

This summer, we are delivering two HAF programmes:

⭐️A family programme at the Russell Howard Pavilion, South Ham.
⭐️A programme for young people aged 11–16 at The Ridgeway
Community Centre, Buckskin.

From Summer 2026, all Hampshire County Council HAF places must be booked through a new centralised booking system. Instead of booking directly with us, families will now make bookings via the Eequ online platform. Please, click on the QR code to register your interest.

As part of the booking process, you will be asked to provide information about your child, including any medical conditions or additional support needs. This information helps us to ensure that all children and young people receive the best possible care and support while attending our activities.
