To Post your offers and wants you need to be a member of th
e main group. Our group is run by Yahoo so you will need to create a Yahoo membership if you do not already have one. If you are a member you can click on the link in each post and it will take you to the website where you can reply. To join the new group:
1) Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/basildon_freecycle
2) Click on the Join this group button at the top right of the page
3) You can then join Yahoo groups using your email address or even your Facebook ID.
3A) If you use your Facebook ID you will need to create a profile and add a name to the Alias section - remember to save it. Any problems see http://tinyurl.com/FBYahooProfile
3B) If you do not want to use your Facebook ID to create your Yahoo account you can just setup a Yahoo account by clicking the "Create new account" button. You will get a Yahoo email address that you are able to use, but if you want to add your own email address to be used instead, you can do this later on once you are joined. When you have completed the form and secret questions it will take you to the page detailed in Step 4 below.
4) You can then click the Join this Group button again which will take you to the joining page. You need to put your general location and reasons for joining in the "comment to owner" box before you proceed. If you need to add a different email address to receive and send new messages to the group you can do so by clicking the "add new email address" link.
5) Now at this point if you want to ignore all of the other stuff you can simply scroll down to the bottom of the page, fill in the Captcha code and hit Join and hey presto you will be a member, or at least a pending member. But it’s likely that you will benefit from looking at the settings on this page, if not now then at some point.
6) The rules will be emailed to you.
