The Good Jobs Bill is being blocked at the NI Executive. If it is not released by the Executive, there may be insufficient time for the Bill to complete the legislative process before the current Assembly term ends.
The Good Jobs Bill affords vulnerable and precarious workers here basic protections, aims to improve work/life balance and strengthens workers voices through trade union representation for the benefit of workers, employers, and the economy.
UNISON is asking members to support the campaign by clicking the link below. It will bring you to a short page that automatically generates an email to your local MLA, asking them to support the Bill.

Join us at β€˜Behind the Smile’, an event focused around training and awareness of spotting the signs of domestic abuse for female client focused businesses, such as hairdressers and beauticians, delivered by Police Service of Northern Ireland.

Many people experiencing domestic abuse do not always disclose what is happening but trusted professionals, especially in female focused business areas are often in unique positions where they may notice subtle changes, signs or symptoms that an individual may need help or someone to talk too and who can signpost effectively.

JOINT STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVES OF NORTHERN IRELAND’S HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE TRUSTS

We are deeply concerned and appalled at the violence which we are witnessing in our communities.

It is completely unacceptable that our international staff, who provide an invaluable service, should be intimidated or feel too frightened to come to work.

The current unrest is having a profound impact on all of our services, which are already under enormous strain.

All the Trusts are trying to operate as normally as possible but the disruption is making this increasingly difficult.

As Chief Executives, we value every single member of our staff, who are trying to care for vulnerable people, both in our hospitals and in the community every day.

The safety of our patients, service users and our staff is paramount.

It is imperative that everyone who works across our Health and Social Care Service, including Care Homes, Community Pharmacies, Home Care and Primary Care, are able to provide essential care to everyone that needs it, without fear or intimidation.

We would like to sincerely thank all our staff for their continued dedication, in really difficult circumstances.
