The annual Shilnavogie Sheep Dog Trial was held on Saturday 13th September on the farm of Mr John Davison, Shilnavogie. There was a good turnout and the weather was kind - apart from one heavy downpour!

A total of 25 competitors along with their faithful dogs, tried their skills at the post. The strictly amateur event is all about taking part and having a go. Some fared better than others, but regardless, a good time was had by all!

The ladies provided some lovely refreshments as always.

The trial was kindly judged by Michael McAllister, Glenariffe, while the time keeper was Donal McAllister, Glenravel.

The committee would like to express their sincere thanks to the sponsors, namely Logan Whistles, David Hamilton Agri buildings, W.Hamill & Sons, Oldstone Vets, Gerry Magill, Gordon Crooks, Joe Maybin, Fane Valley, Moores Animal Feeds, Cleggan Estate and McCurdy Fuels.

Grateful thanks and appreciation to all who attended on the day and donated so generously.

A fantastic total of £1,362 was raised, which this year will be donated to Air Ambulance NI.
