As part of our annual 'community conversations' series, we are once again undertaking a community away-day (to Portrush this time). 🚌 🤔 💭

On a most basic level; this is an opportunity to build & strengthen the core community relationships that sustain action, but most importantly, it also gives us the chance to take people outside the pressures of the everyday environment and discuss issues that impact on their experience of community as well as find out more about the changes they envisage; in addition to having a great wee day together. 🫂

Men make up almost half of our population, yet research shows they often experience poorer health outcomes and can die too young. This week is an important reminder to encourage the men and boys in our lives to look after their health, be aware of preventable conditions, and ask for help when they need it.

Join us for an afternoon of fun, activities, and cultural celebrations at our July Community Funday 🌞🇬🇧

We have had to cut back on a lot of the food this time in an effort to get more activities on the field for your enjoyment, but we will still have free slushies and popcorn available 🍿 🍧

We are also very excited to have the Ballyclare Protestant Boys FB making an appearance this year to support our cultural celebrations! 🙌 🎶
With a set again by our own DJ Lip 💋 🎶 🎵

The beacon this year is incorporated into the event space and will be lit at 10 pm so the kids can enjoy this🔥

We will also have a ballot on the day to raise funds for the group, if you're interested, with some nice prizes up for grabs, very kindly donated by our good friends in the local business community 🤩

As part of our volunteer week recognition; we were delighted to be able to conclude the celebrations by enjoying a meal, some motivation, and a good catch-up together with some of the many that have volunteered during this time, and who have contributed much to our collective journey.
It has been a privilege as a team, (past and present) as well as neighbours & friends, to witness each one of you contribute, grow stronger and more confident, and become better in yourselves, and this was our chance to show our appreciation. 🌟
But most of all, we are all thankful for the footprint you helped put down in this community, the memories yous embedded, and the small but real difference yous have made to people's lives and their experience & support of CommUnity.

Thank you to our current committee members John, Joanne, Amy, Chloe, Hilary, Lauryn, Frances and Michael for supporting the REACH community via their time and efforts to improve the services and environment in the place we live in.
