The Ashington Community Centre - Your Community Centre, Run by Our Village
Have you ever wondered who keeps the lights on, the floors polished, and the doors open at the Ashington Community Centre?

There is a common misconception that our local facilities are funded and managed by local government councils. We want to share a few important facts about how our community hub actually operates, and why it truly belongs to all of us.

1. Completely Independent
The Ashington Community Centre Trust is 100% independent from all councils, whether parish or district. We operate solely for the benefit of our village, free from council bureaucracy.

2. Village Owned & Volunteer Led
The Trust is owned by the village of Ashington. Aside from our wonderful, hard-working paid caretaker and cleaning team, the entire operation is run by a small, dedicated team of local Trustees and volunteers who give up their time to keep everything moving.

3. Every Pound Comes From the Community
We receive zero funding from any council or government body. Every single pound required to keep the halls open, the playing fields maintained, and the facilities running comes directly from:

Hall hirings (your parties, clubs, and events)

Licensing of Trust buildings

The Bottom Line: When you hire a hall or support an event here, you are directly investing in the future of Ashington's green spaces and community buildings. We survive and thrive purely because of you.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping Ashington Community Centre the heart of our village!

Following the Ashington Community Centre Trust's AGM last night, we would like to welcome John & Penny Howie to the ACC Board of Trustees.

We are very excited about the skills and knowledge they will bring to the Community Centre and they have already made a huge mark in the very short time since they have joined.

John has already put many hours into the maintenance and manual jobs around the hall and Penny has created a group within the ACCT to focus on all things environmental!

We are very excited about what the duo will bring, watch this space!
