🥊 NEW CLASS AT HIRST WELFARE CENTRE! 🥊

Introducing Infinite Combat — a mixed martial arts class combining Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Kickboxing and Wrestling!

Led by Jonnie, who brings 22 years of experience in training and coaching combat sports, this class welcomes all abilities, from complete beginners to those with previous experience.

💪 Try something new, develop your skills and get active in a welcoming environment!

Starts Monday 9th November £5.00 per session

Homemade Vegetable and Lentil Soup, followed by a Hot Toasted Cheese Baguette with Chips.

Thursday
Chicken Tikka Masala with Rice and Naan bread, followed by Trifle.

Friday
Mince and Onion Pie with Creamed Potatoes, Vegetables and Gravy, followed by Apple and Blackberry Crumble with Ice Cream.

Thank you to all the families who came along to join in the spooky fun at our Halloween Disco last night. We had a fabulous time and we hope you did too.

Thank you also to our volunteers and partners who came along to help and make this event possible.

Next week we will be releasing our Children's Christmas Disco tickets. Get your tickets early so you don't miss out.

📣 WE’RE RECRUITING AT HIRST WELFARE CENTRE!

Would you like to join a friendly team and work somewhere that makes a difference to the local community? We’d love to hear from you! 💚

We’re looking for:

🍽️ Temporary Catering Assistant – 10 hours per week
Help our Community Café serve delicious food and a warm welcome to our customers.

🤝 Bank Community Support Assistants – hours as and when required
Help support the day-to-day running of our busy centre, welcoming visitors and helping our community activities run smoothly.

Hirst Welfare is a charity at the heart of the community, bringing people together and providing activities, support and opportunities for local residents. Join us and be part of something special!

Wow....what spooky goings on last night at The Untrained Melodies Ashington group and some fantastic costumes too.
Singing is a great way to make you feel better and improve your wellbeing both mentally and physically.
If this is something you want to try, just pop along on a Thursday night, no need to book. You will be made more than welcome by Bev and the rest of the group

**⚠️Event cancelled this Sunday⚠️**
Due to water-logged fields at the Welfare Centre, Sunday 25th Octobers event will not go ahead. With Met Office weather warnings over the weekend, conditions are unlikely to improve.
We'll hopefully be back next Sunday 1st November for our Halloween run! 🎃
