We can all remember our best friend in our childhood and as children we probably took our local park for granted - somewhere to escape to, to play or just hang out with our mates. Covid affected all of our lives and really made us realise the importance of our local green spaces - and just what a gem Tarring Park really is or can be! We relaunched friends of Tarring Park (Recreation Ground to locals) to make our park the best it can be for our community and the environment. The FoTP works alongside Worthing Borough Council Parks team and, as part of the Green Tides network, get inspiration and collaboration from other Friends groups such as Marine Gardens, Homefield and Victoria Park. We aim to make improvements for accessibility and inclusivity, for people of all ages to enjoy their open green space, and encourage healthy and fun social community events throughout the year. So you might think it’s worthwhile to become a Friend of Tarring Park too.
