🌟 It's time to break down the barriers and change perceptions of what a day centre looks like!
At Knightswood, we're proud to be doing things differently.
We know that when some people hear the words "day centre", they picture somewhere people simply go to sit and pass the time.
THAT'S NOT KNIGHTSWOOD! 💜
We see ourselves as a Social, Community and Wellbeing Service, where people come together to make friends, enjoy new experiences, maintain their independence and continue living life to the fullest.
❤️ And we don't call the people who attend Knightswood clients or service users. They're our MEMBERS!
Because being part of Knightswood is about belonging to a community, having choices, being valued and enjoying meaningful experiences alongside friends.
🏡 HELPING OUR MEMBERS REMAIN INDEPENDENT AT HOME FOR LONGER
There's no place like home, and one of our most important aims is to help our members continue living independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
We believe that getting older, living with dementia or having a disability should never mean giving up the things that make life enjoyable.
At Knightswood, we encourage our members to maintain their existing skills, develop new interests, make their own choices and enjoy an active social life.
🎨 EVERY DAY BRINGS SOMETHING DIFFERENT!
From arts, crafts, baking and gardening to music, sing-alongs, games, supported day trips and plenty of laughter, our activities are designed around the interests, abilities and wishes of our members.
And not everyone wants to join in with everything — that's absolutely fine too!
☕ Sometimes there's nothing better than enjoying a cuppa, having a chat with friends or simply relaxing in one of our quieter areas or Molly's Café.
It's your day, your choices and your Knightswood! ❤️
🚐 WE'LL EVEN COME AND COLLECT YOU!
Our friendly transport team can collect members from their homes and take them safely home again at the end of the day.
We also have adapted showering and changing facilities, allowing us to support members with personal care needs while promoting their dignity, comfort and independence.
💜 SUPPORTING FAMILIES AND UNPAID CARERS TOO!
We understand that supporting a loved one can be both rewarding and demanding.
Knowing that someone you care about is spending the day in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment, enjoying activities and making friends, can provide invaluable peace of mind.
It also gives families and unpaid carers an opportunity to enjoy some much-needed time for themselves, whether that's working, attending appointments, catching up with everyday life or simply taking a well-deserved break.
🏡 HELPING PEOPLE STAY IN THEIR OWN HOMES
The right support, social interaction and opportunities to maintain independence can make an enormous difference to someone's wellbeing.
For some individuals and families, attending Knightswood can help delay or avoid an unnecessary move into residential care, allowing people to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes for longer.

As a charitable, not-for-profit organisation, the funds we receive are reinvested into supporting our members and continually improving the experiences and services we provide.
💜🧡 HOW CAN I BECOME A KNIGHTSWOOD MEMBER?
Becoming a member of Knightswood is easier than you might think!
We welcome both self-funded members and those whose attendance is funded through their local authority, subject to individual eligibility and funding arrangements.
As a not-for-profit organisation, we do charge for attendance, but the income we receive goes back into providing and improving the services and experiences we offer.
