💕💙What a brilliant day celebrating our amazing unpaid carers.
You give so much of yourselves, and today was all about giving something back.

What would happen to the person you care for if you were suddenly taken ill or involved in an accident?

The Angus Carers Emergency Card offers reassurance that, if you're unable to continue your caring role, help can be contacted quickly.

The credit card sized card contains a unique reference number and a 24 hour emergency helpline. If the helpline is contacted, emergency contacts can be alerted and appropriate action taken to support the person you care for.

A companion card is also available for the person you care for, helping others understand that they rely on your support.

🥰

Today, as part of Carers Week with Angus Carers Centre, I had the privilege of facilitating a sound bath for a wonderful group of unpaid carers.

As carers, so much time is spent looking after others – supporting, organising, advocating, comforting and carrying responsibilities that often go unseen. Taking time for themselves can feel like the last thing on the list.

Today was simply an opportunity to pause.

To rest.

To be held for an hour, rather than being the one holding everything together.

It was so good to see carers taking that time for themselves, and hearing afterwards that people felt relaxed, rested and able to switch off, even if only for a little while.

A huge thank you to every unpaid carer. Your dedication, compassion and commitment make an incredible difference every single day.

I hope today’s session offered a small reminder that you matter too 🌿✨💜

Today, our wonderful unpaid carers took some well-deserved time for themselves and enjoyed a relaxing Yoga Nidra session. 💜
Caring for others often means putting your own needs last, so it was lovely to see everyone taking a pause from their caring role, embracing stillness, and allowing themselves time to rest and recharge.
Yoga Nidra, often called "yogic sleep," offers deep relaxation for both mind and body, helping to reduce stress and restore energy. Judging by the smiles and feedback afterwards, it was a truly beneficial experience for all who attended.
A huge well done to our carers for making themselves a priority today—you deserve it. 🌿✨
