There’s one boy we’ll never forget - Pepsi 🖤

He faced the unfair reality of Black Dog Syndrome: black dogs and cats are often overlooked by adopters. But Pepsi had something special—those warm, expressive eyes that won us over.

And he was a lot of dog 🤣 He pulled like a steam train, powered off with everyone, sent a few volunteers flying into the bushes, and had a brief phase of trying to hump us. Let’s just say that phase was dealt with swiftly ✂️

Pepsi was a real challenge and needed a patient, dedicated family. We thought we’d found the right match a few times, but sadly, he was returned. Then his wonderful parents came along.

On adoption day, we asked them for one thing. Please give him a chance. They did—and through all the ups and downs, they’ve given Pepsi the time, care and consistency he needed.

Now we get to see videos of his cheeky bark and watch him feel comfortable enough to show off his wonderfully quirky side. It’s incredible. Dogs need time to settle, adjust and learn the boundaries—and even then, they’ll keep you on your toes!

Look at the amazing things that can happen when a dog is given a chance. 🐾🖤

Nothing fascinates me more than watching canine body language and how they communicate with each other. Koda is only 10 months old now, she can be cheeky. She was used to being very bold with poor Hank and had him tortured. Here she shows Zeus she isn’t a threat, shows her back end so Zeus can smell her and suss her out as that’s where dogs get their information on the other dog. She’s cheeky and persistent so when that fails she tries to engage with Zeus in another way🤣

💛 Zuri
A gentle, anxious girl who came from a hoarding situation. She needs time and patience to feel safe, but once she trusts you, her love is endless. She may never have lived indoors, so she’ll need a special, understanding home to help her flourish.

🌪️ Banksie
A tiny tornado who loves his food and toys! Surrendered through no fault of his own, he previously lived with children and with Baks. He walks well on the lead and travels like a champ in the car. Banksie is so ready for his forever home.

💤 Baks
A handsome, squishy big guy who loves his sleep—and his cuddles even more. This special soul has so much love to share.

🏡 Waffles
A deeply misunderstood boy who needs a loving, dedicated home that can support his separation anxiety. With the right people by his side, he deserves the chance to thrive.

🐻 Bear
A magnificent, friendly and loving big lad. Bear was previously an outdoor dog, but his next home will be an indoor one—with no expectations that he already knows the ropes. He’ll be ready for adoption once his assessments are complete.

Mayhem in miniature! Dede is awaiting surgery to help with her breathing and should be available for adoption soon.

Could an experienced foster help Waffles? 🤍

Unfortunately, Waffles isn’t coping well in kennels, and we’re waiting for the right forever home to come along for him.

Waffles is a 15-month-old bulldog who struggles with separation anxiety. He needs a kind, patient foster who is home most of the time and can help him feel safe and settled.

He may be able to live with another dog of a similar size, and bull breed experience is preferred.

Welcome to Zeus 💙

I promised we’d help this boy get out of the pound, and today we made it happen. You all know I have a soft spot for the older shepherds. I’m still working through some raw feelings, but my heart ached knowing Zeus was still waiting.

Today, he had a bath, a groom and a good deshed. His new things are ready and waiting, he’s had a full belly, and he has a choice of cosy beds—and a few extra treats, of course.
