Communities for Red Colobus Project, The Gambia

The C4RC rangers need your help. To all our friends who have visited and worked with us over the years, please take this moment to make your contribution towards securing the project in 2027.

The Wildlife Ranger Challenge (WRC), organised by the Tusk Trust, provides the funding we need to pay for ranger salaries and equipment next year and culminates in a marathon on the 19 September. Your donations are matched 100% to double your impact and will ensure that Meta and Buba can run the wildlife clubs, Abdou and his team can continue their anti-poaching patrols and primate monitoring, Idi can grow thousands of native trees in the nursery to regenerate the forest and Monica and Rebecca can use the project site to complete their primate MSc/PhD studies.

In a fragile and ever changing world, this group of young Gambian men and women represent hope, and provide the best chance of securing long term protection for over 1000 of the world's most threatened primates. Let's stand with them.

As one of our main activities in summer.We are on tree planting exercise across all C4RC sites in order to restore the forest and help the Red Colobus and other primates feel safe.

Thanks to MY GAMBIA with their volunteers who are from Slovenia passed by our tree nursery to purchased some trees like cashew,lime etc and bought them to be giving back to the community of Kerewan samba sira to be planted in their cotton farm. THANK YOU MY GAMBIA!

Every day our rangers protect endangered primates, safeguard their forest habitats and support the communities that live alongside them.

The Wildlife Ranger Challenge (WRC) is a unique annual campaign celebrating these extraordinary men and women which culminates in a marathon on the 19 September where they compete with over 100 ranger teams across Africa to raise vital funds for their work.

Since 2020, WRC has been a lifeline to support the inspiring work of the C4RC rangers as forest guardians, primate researchers, educators, community workers, ecotourism guides and much more.

Help us to protect one of the last strongholds for Temminck's red colobus monkeys in West Africa by making a donation to fund salaries, essential equipment and training for the C4RC team.
