Thank you for my birthday wishes! I was keeping it low key! Thank you all.

I spent my birthday at day care which was fabulous. We laughed all day and made sun catchers, did some singing and dancing, and afterwards celebrated with family and close friends.

A perfect day. Thank you again.

Carole’s passion, dedication and determination have helped shape Alcester Day Care into the warm, welcoming and supportive community it is today. Through her vision and countless hours of hard work, she has made a real difference to the lives of so many people living with dementia and their carers across our local area.

💙 Happy Volunteers' Week! 💙

This week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who has supported Alcester Day Care, both past and present.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From welcoming our members with a smile, serving refreshments, helping with activities and outings, offering companionship, supporting fundraising events, serving on our committee, and working tirelessly behind the scenes – your kindness, time and dedication make an incredible difference.

Because of you, we are able to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people living with dementia and their carers throughout our community.

To those who volunteer with us today, and to those who have helped shape Alcester Day Care over the years, thank you for your compassion, commitment and generosity. Your contribution has touched countless lives and helped create lasting memories for so many families.

Dementia Awareness week 2026

Despite a cool, showery start to Dementia Awareness Week, our Coughton Court Dementia Awareness Walk was filled with warmth and spirit. Held by kind permission of Magnus and Imogen Throckmorton, the event brought together carers, people living with dementia, friends, and supporters.

What the weather lacked, our wonderful volunteers — and the ever‑supportive Coughton Court team — more than made up for. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and teamwork turned a damp day into a truly uplifting one.

We were also delighted to be joined by Alcester Mayor Gill Forman, along with several mayors from neighbouring towns, whose presence and encouragement meant a great deal to everyone taking part.

Our thanks to the Carers Trust who gave their support too.

As Chairman of Alcester Day Care, I would like to say a heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who supported us and took part. Your commitment, positivity, and community spirit continue to make a real difference to people living with dementia and their carers.
