💚 A donation with a very special story

Last week we collected a donation from a gentleman whose generosity came with a very personal story.

His son is getting married next Friday, and a local farmer has kindly let them use his field for parking for the wedding celebrations. Rather than charging for the use of the field, the farmer simply asked him to make a donation. 💚

He chose Arden Foodbank because his brother, who sadly passed away last year, had used a foodbank himself.

What started as a request for a donation has turned into something very meaningful - helping local people who may be facing a difficult time, while remembering someone very special.

We are so grateful to both the farmer for his generosity and to this gentleman for choosing to support us.

And finally, congratulations to the happy couple! 💍🥂 We hope they have a wonderful wedding day.

As summer draws to a close, we’re starting to prepare for the months ahead by building up our stocks of essential items.

Winter can be a particularly difficult time for people in our local community, when the need for support often increases. By donating now, you can help us make sure we’re ready to support local families when they need us most. 🥫🛒

If you're doing a shop this week, adding just one extra item can make a real difference to a local person or family facing hardship.

💚 Reminder about the Biscuit Donation Appeal - starting TOMORROW!💚

A huge thank you to Alcester Town Walking Football, Alcester Town FC and Great Alne Park for running this fantastic Biscuit Donation Appeal again in support of Arden Foodbank! 🍪

Biscuits are always a welcome treat in our food parcels, and every donation will help bring a little comfort to local people and families.

If you can, please support this brilliant community appeal by donating between 2nd and 9th September we would really appreciate it.

Back to school next week!
📢 Changes to Free School Meals from September 2026
🔍 Warwickshire County Council will automatically check eligibility each summer holiday and let families know if their child remains eligible for the next school year.

📢 Changes to Free School Meals from September 2026

From September 2026, Protected Status (also called Transitional Protection) will end. This means some children who have kept their free school meals eligibility since 2018 may no longer qualify under the new rules.

Once a child is approved for free school meals, they will remain eligible for the whole school year, even if circumstances change.

🔍 Warwickshire County Council will automatically check eligibility each summer holiday and let families know if their child remains eligible for the next school year.

📍Location: Based at Minerva Mill, Alcester with travel across Alcester and Studley and the local area as required
