On Thursday 22nd January Tarantara opened it’s doors to anyone who was interested to see how we rehearse, practise and prepare for our 8 to 10 annual fund raising concerts. This year (2026) the music will loosely follow the theme of change, that is, of the seasons, of life, of growth and understanding, of changes in the world. As always, we'll celebrate these changes with music from all genres; classical, contemporary, rock and pop. Our driving objective is to raise money for local charities, but we also aim to have fun, to socialise and enjoy each other’s company and if you are curious to learn more, please contact our secretary John, on 07884 064665 or email [email protected]

2025 has been a wonderful year for us! So many memories to treasure. Personally, I will never forget the creativity and mutual learning when workshopping and performing with the talented teenagers from Trinity High School and Sixth Form Centre, the sheer fun working with Arrow Valley Brass in June or the fabulous 'One day like this' trip to All Saints' Church Braunston! Not to mention our Christmas concert in Shottery with Blue Sky Brass that still warms my heart. Add to that the lighting of the VE beacon at Cookhill Village Hall and our warm welcome when performing at Inkberrow, Bishop's Tachbrook, Stratford-upon-Avon, Wootton Wawen, Wood Norton, Shottery, Greig Hall in Alcester and the Worcestershire Arts Festival - it's been a blast!

A huge thank you to all of our audiences and concert organisers for making us feel so welcome - it is always such a pleasure singing for you, and together we've raised a lot of money for good causes. Also, a special mention to Chris Long Music, our outstanding accompanist, our hard working committee and the many members of our choir that help with everything from music buying and organising, equipment, stage and rehearsal preparation, wardrobe, PR and marketing and refreshments. Finally, my sincere thanks to all the choir members for generously sharing their voices and smiles every time I see them. I am very grateful to work with such a lovely bunch and am looking forward to a wonderful 2026 together!

If anyone wants to join the fun, check out our upcoming events at www.tarantara.org.uk, including our Vocal Workshop on January 10th and Open rehearsal on January 22nd!

Best wishes!
/ Linnéa Markgren
