Happy birthday Marjorie! 🎂

Last week, we celebrated Marjorie's 97th birthday at the Club during our King's Award ceremony.

Celebrating birthdays like this is just a small part of what makes being a member of The Melville Club so special. Our Club is about friendship, community, and making sure no milestone goes unnoticed.

Whether it’s sharing a meal, enjoying an activity, or simply spending time together, we’re here to celebrate life’s moments; big and small.

👑 A Proud Day for The Melville Club 👑

We were incredibly honoured to recently celebrate receiving the King's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award given to volunteer groups in the UK. This recognition reflects over 52 years of dedication and service to our community, made possible by our amazing team of volunteers led by Mandy Medlyn.

During the celebration, our volunteers were presented with their official badges by Lord Lieutenant Anna Turner and His Majesty’s Vice Lord-Lieutenant Jenny Wynn, marking a very special moment for everyone involved.

We were also delighted to welcome Revd Mary Thomas, as well as Dr Nigel Hester and Dr Matthew Perry from Albrighton Medical Practice, a fitting connection as the practice carries the legacy of Dr Legge, whose generosity helped make The Melville Club possible.

As part of the celebration, we were proud to present Derek with a £420 donation to support the Albrighton & Cosford Community First Responders, helping towards the ongoing costs of their emergency response vehicle; a small way of saying thank you for the lifesaving work they do in our community.

To mark the occasion, we celebrated together with around 80 of our members, enjoying finger sandwiches, savoury tarts, cakes, scones and plenty of tea; a wonderful afternoon filled with conversation, laughter and community spirit.

A huge thank you to every volunteer, supporter and member who has helped keep The Melville Club thriving for more than five decades. This award belongs to you all. 💜
