The Albrighton Branch will be holding their Annual Act of Remembrance at the Village memorial Tuesday 11th of November 10:50am all are invited. Please be aware No Roads are closed so please take extra care if attending. Drivers it’s the same every year please slow dow when around the memorial. Thank You We Will Remember them.

The National Launch of the 2025 Poppy Appeal got underway yesterday our band of volunteer Poppy Sellers are out and about in the village over the next 2 week and our stall will be outside the Methodist Church Saturday morning why not pop by and say hello......lets make this years total the best yet.....

Albrighton Royal British Legion held a 2 min silence and the President and Chairman laid wreaths as a mark of respect in remembrance of the fallen at the 11th hour today the 8th May 2025.

ONE THOUSAND MEN ARE WALKING

One thousand men are walking
Walking side by side
Singing songs from home
The spirit as their guide— with Wow Scenery.
They walk toward the light milord,
they walk towards the sun
they smoke and laugh and smile together
no foes to outrun.
These men live on forever
in the hearts of those they saved
a nation truly grateful
for the path of peace they paved.
They march as friends and comrades
but they do not march for war
step closer to salvation
a tranquil steady corps
the meadows lit with golden beams
a beacon for the brave
the emerald grass untrampled
a reward for what they gave.
They dream of those they left behind
and know they dream of them
forever in those poppy fields
there walks one thousand men
