Working together across Lancashire and South Cumbria 💬

Our work at Pathways Associates goes beyond training. The Pan Lancashire and South Cumbria Confirm and Challenge meeting brings colleagues and self advocates together to look at our shared work across health and social care.

It’s a space to listen, ask questions and challenge each other constructively, with people’s experiences at the heart of the conversation.

💜 **Looking back at 2026, looking forward to 2027!** 🎉

Our North West Regional Forum Conference 2026 brought people together to talk about something really important: **Compassion in Communities.**

Self-advocates shared their experiences, ideas and hopes for communities where everyone feels welcome, included and valued.

❤️ Listening to people and their experiences

💬 Making sure everyone has a voice

🤝 Building stronger, more inclusive communities

🌟 Supporting people to have choice, control and independence

And the conversations don't stop there!

📅 **Our Self-advocates Conference is back on Thursday 11 March 2027, and bookings are NOW OPEN!**

We're working together to co-produce next year's theme and agenda, with more exciting details to follow.

📸 In the meantime, why not look back at the photos, reports and Easy Read resources from 2026?

🌟 **From OK to GREAT: The power of peer support!**

Sometimes, a little encouragement, a chance to share experiences and the right support can make a real difference. 💜

Our *Moving from OK to GREAT* peer support sessions are all about learning together, building confidence and helping each other navigate challenges.

From having difficult conversations to managing change and finding the right support, there's real value in connecting with people who understand.

With Pauline's experience in coaching and person-centred approaches, we're passionate about creating opportunities for people to share ideas, develop their skills and feel more confident.

💬 **Because great support starts with listening, learning and working together.**

💙 Making decisions about our own lives matters.

The Mental Capacity Act is about protecting people’s rights and supporting them to make their own decisions wherever possible.

Good support means taking time to listen, explaining choices in ways that work for the person, and not making assumptions about what someone can or cannot decide.

For PAs and Individual Employers, Free online sessions:

📅 Pathways Associates has a Mental Capacity Act Principles workshop scheduled for Thursday 22 October, from 10am to 1pm, online.

There’s also a follow-up session, The Mental Capacity Act in Practice, on Thursday 5 November.

Good support starts with listening. 💬

At Pathways Associates, we believe people should be involved in the decisions that affect their lives, not just consulted once those decisions have been made.

Our team has been working alongside people and families in Salford to understand their experiences, hopes and aspirations for short breaks and support. Their voices have helped shape co-produced options for the future.

Because genuine co-production means making decisions with people, not for them.

What does being truly listened to look like to you?

💙 Looking back at Conference 2026…

With our next conference on the horizon, we’ve been looking back at the conversations, ideas and experiences that made last year’s event so special.

Our Conference 2026 page brings together the reports, Easy Read summaries, infographics and learning from the day, exploring compassion, belonging, inclusion and building stronger communities.

📸 We’ve also just added a new photo gallery, so take a look and see if you can spot yourself!
